We visit O Carabguejo as we was living just around the block and every evening the restaurant was full. The fish was very good and there was plenty of it. We ordere a fish Paella and shared it between two but there was enough for at least 3. The service was good and we didn't have to wait long for... More

I asked for a Moqueca of fish and shrimps but I am not sure what I've got. For sure it was not a moqueca. No flavour at all. I've got very disappointing.

Probably one of the best seafood I had in Brazil in months. Non complicated bar with professional and classy staff that offer bes seafood in a "Portuguese" kind of typical bar.

The food was good, the place is packed all the time with a great ambiance, service is attentive and portions are ridiculously huge so be aware of that! I took some fried squid for appetizers and it was almost a meal for two!!! Is it a cheap, i am on a budget type of place? Not at all, but if... More

My mom and I reluctantly walked five blocks from our hotel, based on the reviews. As we wobbled back to the hotel full to the brim with goodness and plenty, we laughed and praised ourselves for walking the five blocks. We had the shrimp moqueca which paired well with beer. Simple but full of flavor. I have a feeling this... More

I love this restaurant. Every time I go to Rio I always end up there to eat Brazilian sea food. The service is good, quick, and the food is amazing with a reasonable price. I like the "pastel de camarao" (a shrimp starter) and "moqueca da Casa", a typical Brazilian dish with fish, shrimp and lobster. This is definitely a... More

Although very simple, with tables on the sidewalk, Caranguejo offers a vast array of fresh and tasty fish and sea food. Ideal place to visit after a day on the beach, as it is located only three blocks away from the beach front, the restaurant is a nice option either for a beer with sea food appetizers or a full... The food was so good that I had dinner there 2 nights in a row. The food is also very affordable. I would strongly recommend the seafood paella one of the best that I have had. It is so tasty and the seafood servings are very generous. The service is also great!

The food is delicious and the price is fair if we think we are in Rio. The sizes of the plates is well and two or three people can share.

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
