The bistro is a great example of local Rio at its best. It is colourful, well attended by locals and overwhelmingly friendly and helpful staff including Andrea on reception. The food was both varied and delicious. The lamb, the cod and the chicken curry were all spot on. Menu reasonably priced and good wine. Overall an excellent experience.

Zaza is a must in Rio. Good food, great atmosphere, lovely veranda. Start with a cocktail (Zaza fresco is my favorite) and ask for the covert (unmissable), make sure you order as many starters as possible and if you still have appetite for a whole main course, order the pulp, the fish with banana or the organic chicken curry. Very good food. A bit more expensive than other restaurants but the quality of food makes up for that.

It seems that Zaza Bistro knows how to deal with plus 35 centigrade at night. I had a great moceca which cooled the palate with just enough fiery pepper. My husband had a cold bacalau, perfect for summer. Only dish on the menu which didn't fly was a tasteless udon. Cerveza, caipirinha and agua con gaz were far more tropical... More

Earlier in the week we were refused for unknown reasons. On Saturday- on our way to another restaurant- we were pleasantly surprised by the inviting attitude of the hostess at the door. All was done to accommodate us - what a contrast with earlier in the week. What followed was just superb. Perfect pasta with fresh veggies for the boys.... More

We ate here one evening, we had a short wait for a table but were just about to get some drinks when the table was ready. This place is quite small and busy giving it a lively atmosphere. The staff here were helpful and spoke good English. The menu here is interesting with an oriental feel, we shared some cerviche... More

Had high expectations for this little place in Ipanema, after reading the reviews. It's an interesting place with trendy crowd. The first disappointing thing was that a few things on the menu and wine list were not available. We ordered some Savignon Blanc, but the waiter decided Chardonnay was close enough!! Sacre Bleu!! The other interesting thing was the flavours.... More

Cute corner cafe. Great staff and amazing food. Highly recommend the African Brazilian shrimp dish, grouper and lamb shank entree. Better than other restaurants rated in the top ten. We ended up going there twice during our week vacation.
