I have been there twice and both times were excellent. I have had the duck confit the first time I went there. Amazing!! My friends had the Filet, and it was great too! We brought a bottle of wine, and bought a bottle. The second time I went with friends, we started with the pate and cheese plate, nice, Then,... More

The best kitchen in Porto Alegre: there is no daunt that it is the best good French food . Every thing that you choose is just perfectly made by the chef Gerard. I love the Confit du Canard and Fish in a Brie cheese sauce among the others...

The duck confit is the specialty. It is cooked and seasoned to perfection. But it will make you really happy when it arrives on the table with perfect presentation and amazing smell!! 👍🏻 The creme brûlée is finalized on the table with fire. 😍😇 Expensive for Porto Alegre standards.

The food is very good mostly French cuisine. The chef and the waiters are friendly, professional and competent. The atmosphere is allright, except that the tables seem to be too near one another and one can hear what is being discussed at the next table. As Brazilians are noisy and spontaneous by nature one feels rather unconfortable at times. The... More

Chef Gerard Durand is able to bring authentic French cuisine to Porto Alegre without losing Brazilian hospitality. The food is impeccable, with a good wine selection and a good variety of dishes without being overpowering. Personally, I recommend the Fillet Mignon au Brie Gratiné: the red wine sauce that accompanies the dish is a definite highlight. Also, if you're a... More

At Le Bateaux Ivre you will find a great service with excellent french cuisine. A rack of lamb (Carré de cordeiro) is a great idea..

We have always been pleased to return, whether to order a la carte or, especially, for the menu dégustacion -- last week, for our anniversay, we had oysters, escargots, fromage de chèvre (exceptional!), and six more tastings. Wine list outstanding. The cherry on top: the cozy ambiance, the staff, and, especially, Chef Gerard.
