My husband and I visited Bright Star for lunch and really enjoyed the food and environment. We did not have to wait very long to be seated - I am amazed each time we visit how organized they are on special event days. The good was delicious and the waitress and waiters very friendly and attentive! This is one of... More
My 2 sons and I were excited to eat our Thanksgiving dinner at Bright Star, because the reviews were so good and few places were open that day. They had told me on the phone they were closing at 5pm, they could not take reservations for a party of 3, but we should be able to be seated if we... More
Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate the candid comments, it is the one way we can get better. Please be assured that what you experienced last Thursday is not the normal way we operate, and we will bring it up in the next server meeting. We hope you are open to visiting us again. More
We went for dinner on a Monday evening and as a party of nine were seated immediately. We had salads and steaks, seafood, and dessert. My sister-in-law who eats there occasionally, said her stuffed shrimp dish wasn't as good as normal, the tomatoes and onions weren't cooked and the lemon ice box pie was barely cold, certainly not "ice box".... Hi Carole. We apologize you did not receive The Bright Star experience for which we strive last time you ate at The Bright Star. Thanks for the feedback about the shrimp, and the temperature of the pie and steak. These little things can be corrected with training and attention. We hope you will come back again for another meal. More
Love the staff, food and entire restaurant experience. We enjoy the fresh seafood and also enjoy the Meat and veggies for lunch. Great for special occasions or weekly visits. Staff is very friendly and ensures you are taken care of. The snapper is always fresh and shrimp is large! Desserts are homemade. Can't beat it.
Our 5th year anniversary!! We ate here on our Wedding day; it's a tradition. We only get the Greek tenderloin when we come so, can't honestly tell you about any other dishes. The GT is soooo good & it constantly cooked medium rare just like we like it EVERY time!!! There is a reason why they have won Al best... More
This place is an Alabama institution, but the food, service and entire experience is way over rated. It gets a lot of publicity due to the celebrities and such that eat here. The steaks are not cooked well, the potatoes are horrible. The prices are way too expensive for what they offer. Overall, not worth it.
Hi Kevin- Thanks for taking the time to review The Bright Star. We are sincerely sorry you did not enjoy your steak, pototaes and meal with us. I will forward your comments to our staff, and investigate what happened. We always strive to improve. We hope you will give us another chance. More
A James Beard American Classics award winner (among so many awards), a place that never stopped serving the community for more than a century now, a restaurant with great ambiance, where southern and greek hospitality combine as well as the cuisines in their legendary sea food. We all had their signature dish, the fish, and it was mouth watering. And... More
