The food is quite amazing. The sweet and sour chicken is to die for. They have a huge menu, so variety isn't a problem. The staff is hard working and the restaurant is kept very clean. The atmosphere is relaxed. The food portion sizes are excellent and everything tastes fresh. They are quick too. They get you your appetizer out... More

They have a special that comes with 2 entrees, rice and your choice of 2 from soup, ginger salad and egg roll. It's only $9.90 and it's a ton of food! Server was very friendly, but a little hard to communicate with.

I read a lot of mixed reviews. I am a current Louisians resident and they don't know what real Chinese food is. Egg drop soup - wonderful, spring roll, good, crab Rangoon best I've ever had, any where. General Tso's chicken looked great but I was full by then. I will go back when going through Birmingham.

My husband and I decided to try Black Pearl since it's so close to our apartment. Their menu offer many options, including Korean, Thai and traditional Chinese fare. They also have milk teas and flavored teas. I had the beef with vegetables and fried rice and my husband had sesame chicken with white rice and they were both delicious! The... More

The Food we got was a good deal for the price and tasted good as well.So we ordered Egg Drop Soup to start which was good and then I had the salted chicken which was good a little chewy though. My other half order the Mongolian Chicken which he said was good as well. Bottom Line: Give it a Try... More

After a long day of driving, we were happy to be able to walk from our hotel to Black Pearl. We are both very fond of good Asian food after living in SE Asia. The Vietnamese dumplings arrived cold and with only soy sauce. Our waitress did have them reheated and suggested that perhaps I just didn't care for Asian... More

Best overall Chinese restaurant in Birmingham area! Love the salt and pepper shrimp. The hot and sour soup is wonderful. Great and speedy service. Though small the eating area is cheerful and quiet. My go to Chinese.

Michelle's restaurant is miles above any other Chinese restaurant, and I have eaten a lot of Chinese. It is authentic, as she and her chef hubby are both Chinese, and it is served in a clean and inviting little restaurant, with a knowledgeable and friendly staff. She also has bubble tea, which is very Chinese and delicious. I tell everyone... More
