Went for a sisters meal to celebrate a birthday. The food was wonderful and the service was great. The menus reflected the special occasion with a special printed version. My only flaw was not having the specials explained. Other than that it was great

I took my sister to Satterfield's for her 50th birthday. We had a great experience. Very elegant dining. Our waiter was excellent and attentive. The food was outstanding. And they gave my sister a copy of the menu with her name and Happy Birthday printed on it. Great attention to detail. The valet service was also outstanding. Great place for... More

I have been living in Birmingham for about a year now and I finally got around to trying Satterfield's. I drove by it many times, but it is easy to miss as it sits a little higher than the road and it is not in a traditional spot for a restaurant. I made reservations for a Saturday night. It was... There was good and bad. First, the good. Service was friendly and main entree was very good. I had the braised pork. As for the not so good, the worst part was the atmosphere. It was extremely loud and very difficult to carry on a conversation with the others at my table. The waiter admitted it was very loud due... More

The cooking is better than mama's :) The ambience, though white table cloth, is warm and casual. The moment you walk into the door, you are greeted by a wonderful and friendly hostess that has never met a stranger. The restaurant is divided by the bar side and dining side. Plenty of tables on the bar side and strongly recommend... More

Although the food was delicious, the evening was marred by poor service, certainly not what we expected in an upscale restaurant. We were visiting from England, so this may be a cultural difference, but I didn't appreciate being called 'my dear' throughout the meal. I am not elderly and found this very very patronising. We were enjoying a cheese plate when... More

This is our go-to restaurant for fine dining in Birmingham. The menu changes regularly but they have a few favorites that repeat often. The foie gras (when they have it) is among the best I’ve tasted. Most of the appetizers have tremendous depth of flavor as do the accompaniments on most of the entrées. Also, the wait staff is knowledgeable... More

We went to Satterfield's for our anniversary - it was my first visit there. It's a quaint restaurant with good food and excellent service. For me, the service was the star of the show. The menu is small and relatively unique - southern gamey gourmet. The wine list is pretty good too. It wasn't the best meal I've ever had,... More

The smells walking in were so welcoming! The ambience is romantic and welcoming as well. The breads on the table were so good that we took some to go. And the actual meal was very good. A good experience.

We went to Satterfield's on a Thursday night with business acquaintances. Even though they were from Birmingham, they had never been to this restaurant. After our experience I expect they will return often! The food was absolutely divine! I ordered salmon which was not overly seasoned ( just enough), overly sauced or overly cooked. Just perfectly done. My husband ordered... More
