The food was fresh, delicious and inexpensive. We tried a selection of several different local dishes; all were delicious. They also have Western food that looked good (but we didn't try ). The location is also convenient right on Foreigner Street.

Sit on the terrace and people watch. Quite a few will want your photo. The menu has English and has a wide selection. Our orders were chicken-bacon rolls with a salad and breaded pork chop with fries. Both were excellent. A bottle of the house red wine went down well. The bill was quite reasonable. The service was also pretty... More

I ordered an iced latte and fried banana with ice cream. The fried banana was essentially a single banana cut into pieces (which is OK I suppose), but the scoop of ice cream - which was tasty - was a little small. The problem was the coffee, which was hot! When we had placed the order we said quite clearly... More

We had dinner in this restaurant. It seems that the restaurant has an orientation for tourists and is not an authentic Chineese restaurant. The service as well as the food were disappointing. The waiters had no manners and no service orientation.

My wife and I ate in Kaiyi's kitchen 30th Aug. My wife ordered steak and chips and I ordered a Thai green curry. The steak looked like a rat that had been run over. It also had a funny sour taste. The green curry was grey and was bland. It wasn't at all authentic and tasted quite unpleasant. I don't... More

Had lunch yesterday and was disappointed both with the service and food. Choose two dishes from the Thai page of the menu Green curry and a Fish dish. Firstly we waited over half an hour to be served and when the Curry arrived first it lòoked more like a stew than a curry, I was so hungry I eat it... More

We have dad two excellent dinners here, both well prepared Chinese meals. The local Dali beer is well worth a try. Enjoyable to sit on the terrace while people are passing by in the street. You will likely get your photo taken by passing Chinese, especially if are using a fork,

We had lunch here as part of our tour of old town. Kaiyi's in on Foreigner Street in the middle of old town. So it's a great place to people watch. The food was good though the dishes ordered for us was pretty basic.

Traditional Bai cooking in the touristy old town of Dali. Very pleasant sitting on the front patio in the cool spring weather enjoying delicious Bai cuisine and a cool Dali Beer. This area can get very busy at night, but for lunch it was quiet and relaxing.

And also a great place for Chinese tourists to take pictures of you....... We sat outside and lost count of how many Chinese people took pictures of us (much to my son's chagrin). I ate a pork, tofu and noodle dish which was excellent. Reasonably priced wine by the glass as well. My son's mapo tofu was excellent as well.... More
