Great sushi and good service. Averagely priced and well worth it. Will definitely be returning for more.

More

Someone from my office suggested we ate at Yamato. I hesitated when getting off the car. The surrounding area is nice but the entrance to the restaurant leaves much to be desired. Enter and it is crowded, definitely the epitome of badly decorated and poorly set. Once you recover from first impressions and get going it is so good you... More

Tempura and sushi as they're made at Yamato, are not exactly Japanese food... Sushi is half the dimension it used to be, and the tempura is not light fried, although the quality of the fish is very good and fresh and prices are affordable. Really delicious the "cevichado roll", which is the ecuadorian version of a Japanese roll, nevertheless unmissable.

Located in one of the most upstanding neighborhoods of Guayaquil, this little restaurant surprises for the quality of its food. When we crawl for raw fish, we know the place we need to visit is Yamato even if its not the most fashionable place in town. Tuna, Salmon, Eel... are are usually better than plain good and dishes such as... More

We had a fantastic experience at this place! The quality of the food, the generous portions, reasonable prices and the informality makes it a place to go in a relaxed mood with family or friends! Totally recommended!

Ramen is hard to come by in Ecuador and they have one of the best, if not the best! Sushi is also great if you enjoy the real deal, not some of the newer creations by way of the US and others.

this small place sells great sushi. I came across it because the tacky AsiaCuba was closed. This Sushi restaurant is great, Three cooks work like hell behind the bar, making the most beautifull sushi, rolls and whatever. Fresh, tasty, very nice. The owner and gerant are very nice as well. Good atmosphere. Dont expect any fancy place. Just simple, but... More

we got plenty of fresh and good sushi for a fair price (compared e.g. to places in peru or argentinia). service was friendly, though only spanish is spoken so there was a missunderstanding about one plate. but it was replaced without any further issue. my visa was rejected by the machine so maybe it's better to bring some cash. about... I confess, I spent $11 on my dorm room down the road and twice as much on Sushi here. Not once but twice. I'm from Vancouver, Canada and am spoiled with excellent, cheap sushi. Yamato was quite a bit pricier than I'm used to (the rolls at 8-10 dollars are nearly twice the price of Vancouver's rolls) but it was... More
