The place has an amazing patio, very inviting. During the extended wait for our food we thought we'd relax in the hammock. Don't try the hammock. It's for the birds (literally bird crap all over it). Our food we thought might be worth the wait. Watery but tasty quinoa soup, tasteless tomato sauce on noodles, more celery than tuna sandwich.... More

I went at lunch time and nothing on the menu was too exciting so I tried the guac and it was very good. The garden seating was nice and the service was fine. A good place for a snack and a beverage.

If you are vegetarian or you have developed chicken fatigue, this is the right place where to enjoy healthy vegetarian meals based on salads, beans, quinoa and other local healthy food. The restaurant is located in an old hacienda, is very relaxing and offers tables inside and outside in a cosy and laid back atmoshere.Perfect after visiting the market!

We had quinoa soup, which was surprisingly good (am I the only person who's sick of quinoa), and the house special spaghetti which was really bland and very poor value. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

Looks nice and cosi from the outside but the reality is totally opposite, more than 1 hour to get the first dish, they made mistakes in all the order, and the pizza (supposed to be the house specialty) just a bunch of crude bread. They don't take care of your regrets and the owner or the one in charge was... More

On our first venture to Otavalo, we chose what seemed to be a safe alternative for lunch, based on the recommendation in Lonely Planet's book on Ecuador. It is a nice, pleasant garden location on a main street close to Otavalo's park and the market, tucked back in off the street. The service was good, the staff pleasant, food no... More

Purely vegetarian restaurants are hard to find in Ecuador, especially in small Andean towns. So we were very happy to find the Oraiba (Oraibi?) in Otavalo. However the menu lacked options, the service was quite slow, and the food itself was good but nothing special.

We probably wouldn't have found Oraiba without a friend's recommendation, although it is very close to the Otavalo market. She had mentioned that it was in a lovely garden location, which seemed unlikely given the surroundings, but true it was. Once you have bargained to your heart's content, step into this quiet, healthy, vegetarian oasis. The quinoa soup and guacamole... More
