There are so many fascinating aspects of the visit to the Golden Temple...the Guru-ka-langar is just one of it. One cannot miss this place...and the temple attendants will be more than willing to provide the direction. Many people comment on the food that is served here, but the aura of this place is much bigger than that. Meals are served... More

A visit to the golden temple is incomplete without having the guru ka langar prashad. It is a community kitchen run by volunteers who come to do sewa. One can see people from all walks of life sitting as a community and sharing a meal. The food is tasty and clean. The place where the utensils are being washed is... More

I'm not Sikh, and unlike most of the other reviewers I not even a native to India, but I found the experience of the Golden Temple and the Langar spiritual, and uplifting. The Golden temple is beautiful to see but eating with everyone is the ultimate experience. This is not a dining but a cultural experience. You must go. You... More

The only religious place I know that had the power to draw an Atheist 1700 km's to personally experience magic. A free kitchen serving food to nearly 50,000 people from all walks of life EVERY DAY, where 90% of the staff is made up of volunteers. WOW! WOW! WOW! No one sleeps hungry in Amritsar! Whether rich or poor, belonging... More

The great community kitchen, liked the idea very much and understand how hard it is to manage 24 hours. No paid workers would have kept the dignity of such a place. When you are in Amritsar, pay a visit to Langar any time to get some roti, sabji, dal and kheer. More than food, it's all about the experience. Also... More

Most humble lessons of life are taught here. People from all waks of life, irrespective of their caste, status, religion, etc. come here and bow before the Guru for the Parshada. Food is served free of cost 24*7 here. People are often seen guiding the sangat (visitors) to take a seat and serve food in an orderly manner. This is... More

Thank you God for the food we eat. Langar services have always attracted the people to serve the poor and the needy. Excellent Satvik, tasty and healthy meal. The food is free, but I believe one should donate if he can afford to help others (esp poor) have a free meal.

May be this has not to be counted in restaurants category. It's a free service from golden temple. It's the world largest langar opened 24*7 . System is good even in rush. Must visit.
