We had an amazing time with Dao. Cooked 5 dishes of our choice and have all the recipes to take home. She's really enthusiastic and makes you having a nice time. However, 5 dishes is a lot.. you're allowed to either take away or bring some friends to help you finish the food!!!

Cooking 5 dishes in a half a day is pretty tough going as you have to eat them! Doa let group take home but still felt too many dishes in one session. Went to market to select food that was interesting. Course started at 3 but we didn't start our lesson to 5pm...all ingredients laid out on tray for you... More

My high expectations were let down by lack of leadership and over promise. The host herself was a lovely lady. She came to my hotel the day before to discuss the menu and I excitedly picked 5 dishes to cook. I paid 600 tbh for the day. Tom Yum Pad Thai Green curry Massaman Sticky Rice and Mango. Being a... Me and two girlfriends are backpacking around Thailand and wanted to try out a cooking class while in northern Thailand. We were directed to red orchid in Pai. We had the most wonderful experience! Our teacher took us to the market with her and we bought all our own grocery lists. We then each made 5 different dishes of our... More

Red Orchid was reco'd by my hostel (Darling House), and was such an excellent experience and unbeatable flavors. We went in the morning to the market, where the owner explained all the ingredients and even bought all of us smoothies on the walk back. We then cooked a few dishes for lunch, but were so full that she said it... More

Come across this cooking school and a class was starting just a few minutes later. It was only 4 of us and nice to have so few in the class. We were taken to the market to buy ingredients and the women teaching explained each items use and seemed very knowledgable. My friend could not use soy or fish sauce... More

I had already done a cooking class in Chiang Mai with Thai Farm a few years before, but I was in Pai and wanted to do another class. The Red Orchid is a bit less glossy and well-organized than an established school in Chiang Mai, but there are a lot of benefits to that: small classes, flexible schedules (we cooked... More

Dao was ABSOLTELY wonderful! This is a late post but my boyfriend and I spent a month in Pai and did a cooking course with Dao. She allowed us plenty of flexibility in our course and we did it over 5 days instead. We even asked to cook crispy pork with broccoli and she was most obliging. She is a... More

The atmosphere is homely and welcoming, a trip to the local market where you're talked through all the ingredients and how they should be used/chosen. Then into the open kitchen that is situated in their home. Very friendly and attentive staff who help you produce delicious results.

Cause it was low season it was only the two of us so we had a lot of time, could pick our starting time and didnt feel rushed at all. All the ingredients were explained to us, though i would have loved some more talk during cooking itself. The dishes were extraordinary! Every single one of them was great, i... More
