Something for almost everybody...almost

its one of the "go to" places for a few drinks and a rowdier weekend. An open bar but it has something for almost everyone..depends on what time you are there. Happy hour starts early before knockoff work time but drinks promos are always around till later in the evening. Kitchen starts early too for pub food, local food and also fusion-ish food. As it gets late, especially over weekends, it gets livelier, a little bit louder and merrier. If you are out for a good night of music, drinks and mingle, head in the bar and you will make friends and conversation. If it gets too rowdy and crowded, stay outside, let open air cool you while you sip away. Be aware, non kosher, non halal, but have vegetarian options.

Perfect ambience for a weekend hangout

From my personal experience, Ming cafe can be stated as a benchmark of a happening city. With all the varieties of drinks for a weekend party, friends reunion or family hangout, this restaurent is a must visit place in Miri. For expats in Brunei, a visit to Ming Cafe will surely make feel that it's truly worth spending your leisure time with friends.

Good food, great atmosphere, excellent value!

Visited the Ming Cafe last night following personal recommendations. We were a family group of 7 ranging in ages from 2 - 68. Service was good, food was tasty and delicious and the (adult) drinks were very enjoyable too. Visiting Miri for a few days from Brunei and enjoying the experience so far. The Ming Cafe atmosphere was suitable for all as could be seen across the wide age ranges and nationalities of the patrons. A very good value experience!

Roundabout Miri Food Tour

2nd time visiting Miri, as well as 2nd time patronizing Ming Cafe. Unforgettable, because it's a fusion restaurant which serves varieties of Asian, Western food, beers, liquors, etc. Ordered the Fried Bee Hoon, Pumpkin Soup, Potato Wedges and Lemongrass Tea. All good, satisfied and pleased.

We had heard so much about this place as the best place to go to for food, but it was really a let down once we saw the menu and tried the food. We tried the vegetarian options and my noodles came out with chicken in in them so had to get a new order in. The prices are higher than we had hoped but as non drinkers probably not coming back again. Gluten free vegetarian, diet probably not the place to go.

Lively bar with cheap food

I had 8 days waiting in Miri whilst a work visa was processed, there isn’t much to do as a tourist but plenty of decent places to eat and have a drink - my favourite of which is this place. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. At the weekends it gets busy so you’re bound to make new friends. I even ended up DJing for a bit one night! Food is cheap, can get a meal for less than £2 GBP and drinks prices are reasonable.

You Had Me At Strongbow

Yes, strongbow on tap which is hard to find in NZ A welcome thirst quencher. Arrived 4pm so nice and quiet Service was good and rice dishes were flaversome. Imagine it can get busy as it has that vibe. But we were happy being fed and watered.

Highlight of the city!

The food is delicious, the drinks are super affordable, and the atmosphere is just GREAT. We love this place so much that we go almost every day when we are in town! It is suitable for cozy sit-downs with friends or dancing after dinner. The owner and staff are absolutely AMAZING! We will keep coming back!

Ming is one of he best place o enjoy local or non local food. you can sit inside or ouside o enjoy good food. Drink´s for malaysia a bit expensive but sill ok. Every Visitor should be at least one time there to get there own impression

Great we bar ,are here nearly every day .Great selection of food and staff very nice. Mary served us most days and is lovely. This place is guaranteed good food and cold beer. I will be back 😎🙏

The fusion of cafe,bar and bistro in one roof. Located at city centre, Miri near Merbau Road which is an strategic and convenient place. Visitors who come over, normally choose to taste special imported beers .Gathering with long periods invisible friends from around the world here.

Almost the best

Ming Cafe is probably the most famous bar in Sarawak! It's been around a long time & anyone who's been to Miri & enjoys a beer knows the place. Our second visit & we always enjoy it. Cool & airy, open plan with heavy wooden tables. A great beer selection at reasonable prices. Good food selection but we didn't eat. Friendly & cheerful staff, & after a little correction on the way to serve Guinness (there is an international standard regarding the size of the head), they were super helpful. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the music. Early on it was fine but as the night wore on, it became very nightclub sounds & over loud. Not my thing as I'm there to chat with friends. But that's just me 😎

Flat beer, rude owner.
