We tried to dine here shortly after the new mall opened about 6 months ago.
we did not, because they were having a "soft opening" and could only sell coffee & cakes.
So, tonight we saw it was fully open and went in.
initial impressions...were very good.
Friendly staff and nice decor, clean & tidy.
So we scratched the surface and opened the menu. The first surprise was the amount of sticky labels stating "unavailable". No beef, no fish, loads of soft drinks etc.
We enquired after a few of the dishes not covered with labels and they were also "unavailable".
I guess the label Police missed them out.
So we ordered drinks which were good, and a combination pizza for me, and pineapple rice with ganjung chicken for my wife.
I questioned the waitress about the 7 un-named items in the menu description and looked closely at the photo on the menu. Definitely pepperoni sausage with some nice fresh looking capsicum, mushroom etc.
The pineapple rice turned up promptly and had to sit there until it was cold when my wifes chicken & the pizza arrived.
The pineapple rice was not in a pineapple as on the menu photo.
The pizza had boiled onion, sweetcorn and a solitary green pea that were not listed toppings.
A few dejected pieces of green capsicum and some tough mushroom slices. the biggest problem from my view was no pepperoni. I spoke to the waitress again. It transpires that they had substituted some dry miserable looking chunks of an unidentifiable meat for pepperoni sausage.
i was informed it was large pepperoni chopped into small chunks. i am adventurous so tried it. FAIL. It was vile, spicy & gristly. The subject of 7 toppings came up and it transpires that cheese & tomato chunks are a topping. Maybe, but what about a tomato paste base under the cheese? Some herbs? Black pepper? I had been served an expensive, sweet tasting cheese on toast.
My wifes chicken was overcooked, and smothered in a sickly sweet sauce with a tang of chilli and something I have not been able to identify.the pineapple rice was cold, lumpy and had a few miserable lonely shreds of pineapple.I was put in mind of the "Waldorf salad" episode of Fawlty Towers.
If you want chicken cooked properly go to Kenny Rogers in same mall.
Good Pineapple rice & excellent pizza can be bought at mings.
The farce continued with the arrival of three men and a step ladder who then started to change lightbulbs in the ceiling around our table. We paid, squeezed around the ladder & crew and left............................. never to return.More
