I stayed at the Barat, so my vouchers needs to be spent here. Even though the meal voucher is cheaper compared to if you order ala carte, your selection for the set menu is limited, so your vouchers are only enough during the duration of your package.
They slashed a whole page off of the menu, so some of the items are not available. Overall, the cost is on the pricier side, and each item are mostly individual servings. Some chicken dishes only provide wing part (with the exception of the chicken rice, which is usually the leg part).
Restaurant is very busy during dinner time (7-9pm), so staff can get overwhelmed with the amount of guests dining in. If you can, get a seat by 6:30pm and if you want BBQ, you can wait until BBQ stall opens at 7pm.

A bit more expensive than other places but good food if you get the Malaysian dishes. Nasi lemak, roti canai, mee memak, fried rice, chicken and rice platter all good. BBQ dishes all excellent - esp the grilled squid and grilled barramundi. Yum. Other dishes are not so great - avoid the butter chicken in particular. Service good and beer most appreciated.

Simple restaurant with excellent prices with the possibility - only for dinner - to choose the catch of the day which will be grilled on the spot and served with white rice. Fast service. This together with the Coral View restaurant are the best options for eating on the Perenthian Islands.

Simply mind-blowing! Chaotic and very noisy, terrible service! I can't imagine the hotel. There were 4 of us at dinner, too bad they made a mistake in taking the order and the last diner was served 20 minutes later. Tables and chairs in very poor condition. Really not recommended

Awesome BBQ at Barat Resto. Place your order near the bbq pit for fish or swuid or lamb. The seafood will be weighed in front of you and pending for your agreement before its bbqed. BBQ set comes with rice & coleslaw. The burgers looks awesome too.

Excellent grilled fish , squid and fantastic imperial prawns to choose from , weigh and cook ... present wide choice of Western and Asian food , discreet location directly on the sea . Friendly and helpful staff. In two 50 euros but with satisfaction

Awesome dinner and fresh seafood. The nasi padang is good too.
The only place in Pulau Perhentian besar that serves adult drinks 😉.
Staffs are friendly and attentive.
Overall a good and friendly place to chill for a few days before going back to reality.
Will come back again!!

Great restaurant on the see side, absolutely delicious food, very good value and best of class service, thanks Rose and Marie. We went 2 times at 5 people and just perfect, better than any other restaurants we tried. Do not hesitate, just go there. Special note on Mee Mamak dish, just paradise :-)

The restaurant was packed when we were there. They had to open more tables to accommodate us. The setting's pretty relaxed and lively. Everything's great on the menu from the starters and salads to pizza and BBQ. Service was quick despite the busy crowd.

Fine experience. Atmosphere is laid back. Service was swiftly and friendly. Enough choices on the menu. Had the Malaysia famous Nasi Lemak and found it okayish. There is enough shade and the view is fine. Since it is also a resort restaurant enough taxi boats nearby.

We were staying at Coral View resort and decided to try out the food at "The Barat Restaurant," which was a few minutes' walk from our room.
The Restaurant had a nice ambience with jetty view and had a typical bar style setting.
Food wise was so-so as it was below our expectations. We ordered seafood, tom yam and satay.
We were disappointed with the satay as it tasted sour, could have been kept long. The Tom yam also tasted watery, seafood was so-so. And the waitress left out our drinks order and we waited long before we realised she forgot to include in.
Overall, a typical food spot for those who crave for Malay food, but if quality is not a top priority, then this should be good to go.

We came here thinking it would be nice…but was sadly mistaken. A lovely place with nice service that was let down by very overpriced and poor food.
The setting is beautiful and cannot be faulted.
It is a shame that the food was so poor.

Without a doubt the best restaurant on the island. Good food with an ok service if you compare to other on this island even if we alwsys hade the food hand out seperatly and a couple of mix up with other tables.
