Cozy and clean place. Fish grilled on the spot really very good (but arrive before 8 pm to choose the best pieces!) and also many other gastronomic choices. Excellent desserts and good wine cellar. Nice but slow service that often gets confused with commands. High prices, but if you move elsewhere you will find fish of lower quality, especially less fine cuts, and an even more confusing service, believe me we tried!

We arrived at the restaurant with a group of 6 people, we booked a table beforehand. The service was very fair and helpful, the menu was of good quality and with a rich selection. This is true for food and drinks as well. All dishes we ordered appeared on time and in perfect condition. The flavors were harmonious and easy to interpret. Thank you for the perfect hospitality.

Outstanding restaurant and cocktail bar.

My wife and I waited for more 45 mins and they kept repeating that they don't serve drink until 7pm, but next table got served nicely and fast. Other than the difference of race I can't see why they are prioritized.

The quality of grilled fish is good but the value for money is too low. The service leaves much to be desired... Long waits and arrival of staggered courses with no sense. If they do not want to lower prices (we paid 50 euros per person for starter and dessert) they should improve the service.

Outstanding seafood, without question! The best on the island by a country mile….
Chicken and beef skewers to share and dream about (12 for 50 ringgit) (£9).
Half a lobster (a type I hadn’t heard of before - but delicious!!) with a fresh clean salad (I upgraded to Greek salad) (£12 for the lobster and salad)
If you ignore the local prices to sit on a plastic deckchair and eat from a plastic plate, (still amazing food nonetheless) then this is top level food, the best seafood so far in Malaysia!!

My friend and I dined here twice during our recent holiday in Perhentian. I would recommend the grilled rib-eye fillet steak and my friend said that the Nasi Goreng Kampung(Village fried rice) is really good. Be prepared for the slow service, all the restaurants in the entire island seem to be in a semi-comatose state when it comes to table service. And the prices of the food here is on-par with the prices of the food in the 5-star hotels in Kuala Lumpur.

I highly recommend to stay in Bubu Resort or Bubu Villa and take 3D2N package where the meal are inclusive as well as the snorkeling trip.
The western dishes are delicious and the juices are superb!
You will never regret.

As you can imagine on a undeveloped island, there is very limited choices of food establishments, With that being said, Santai charge premium prices for an average meal, which would cost half the price on mainland. plus a hefty service charge. Which you kind of have to suffer. Not good value for money. I wouldn't recommend, I prefered ewans which was a short walk to coral beach. But ate at Santai before discovering Ewans.

We stay Bubu for our vacation. The food here is surprisingly delicious. We ordered bbq squid, whole fish, big clams, and chicken green curry. Everything is tasty. Price is reasonable.

Expensive restaurant part of BuBu resort but nice place to sit and chill on quieter part of long beach. Nice views and better place to swim without worrying about incoming boats. Staff friendly and very attentive. Recommended for relaxing for a few hours out front with a beer.

Lovely restaurant with great staff. We returned three nights in a row. Good range of food on the menu to offer both Western and Asian cuisine so my children and husband were all happy!

We had Lunch and Dinner. It is nice and friendly staff there. Most like is the phat thai, mushroom soup. We know that their chef is from Thai.Cool !
Dinner have BBQ which serve fresh seafood.

Attracted by the beautiful terrace on the beach, we stopped here for a quick lunch. The menù offers local food and burgers/sandwiches: we opted for one of these. The costs are high compared to the average of the place, but the dish was hearty and very tasty, unusual and interesting combinations; it also included fries, salad and sauces. There is also the possibility to order alcoholic beverages, including cocktails and wine, a rarity on the island.
