It wasnt planned but I had my tour guide from Finca Montania take the path back along the beach so we could stop here for lunch ( I was here the day before). Whole grilled fish, rice, plantains, salad and 4 Tona's for $12.00 :-) Love you Nica !!!

I stayed at Caballito's Mar as a couple in a four bed room. They do not have options with only a bed for two as the place is quite small. But the price was 25 so that's all right and would have been a bargain for 4 people. In the room there was one matrimonial bed and one bunk bed... More

A remote and rural place to stay on the Maderas side of the Island. We stayed in the private cabin closest to the beach and had a great stay. The cabins are mostly clean with good beds with mosquito-nets. The fan could do a beter job at cooling the cabin but with the remote beach and great terrace you will... More

This is a great place to have good food and enjoy the beautiful views around. We had the grilled fish with rice and plantains. It was delicious. We also had a refreshing freshly squeezed orange juice. Nice staff. Great value for money.

After an amazing kayak tour (we saw a rare baby cayman in the lake!) we were served lunch. The deliciousness of this lunch--fresh grilled whole tilapia-- cannot be expressed accurately in words. I could eat that dish every day of the rest of my life. They also have wifi here, which is handy if you have to catch up on... More

If you want to kayak the isthmus to see nature, this is the place to go. Fernando will outfit you with good kayaks, guides if you wish, and provide drinks ad food afterward, if you so desire. It's a quiet little place off the beaten path, but his sign on the road to Merida is easy to see. Nice relaxing... More

We had the fish with cold beer. Watched the sun go down then realized we didn't have a flashlight to get back to our finca (pitch black). Fernando lent us one and told us to leave it with the Finca's owners. Very nice meal and very nice owner.
