Had rice and curry on banana leaves. Tasty vegetarian curries with top ups if wanted all for 250 rupees for two of us. Seem clean and food was fresh and hot. Quite spicy for those not used to it

A great place for traditional Sri Lankan food. No menu in English, but staff helpful. Essentially you have choice of Rice and curry, Thosai (A fermented lentil and rice flour pancake) and curry, Idly (savoury cake made with fermented lentil and rice flour). Their wadei are among the best we've had in Sri Lanka

Definitely needs an upgrade, a lot of people recommended this place, the food is nice and fresh but for the amount of clientele they get they could update their decor and make the place a bit cleaner.

After nearly four months in Sri Lanka, this was possibly the best food I'd eaten. The curries were delicious and the fresh masala dosa was out of this world. I ate second helpings with a bottle of coke and it came to around £2. It's a true local experience eating with your hands off a banana leaf, which you have... More

Attractive atmosphere, with old wood panelled dining room. Very popular with locals for South Indian vegetarian food, served on banana leaves and eaten with your hands. Remember to deposit your leaf in the used banana chutes at the back of the dining room next to the wash basins. Recommended, especially if you are looking for somewhere to eat near the... More

An interesting vegetarian local restaurant, where you eat food with your fingers on banana leafs, ideal for a snack and see the local culture. The milk tea is a must, and the sweets are excellent. Forks also available for more western-minded people.

The place is not good as before (decade ago), Things changed a lot and the flavors too, they should rethink about their past history and develop the taste, staffs are not good as before too, sometimes unpleasant! Lots of things to improve from upto bottom!

This place is the real jaffna food experience. Nothing is written in latin alphabet there, there are only sri lankan people, you eat with your hands. Such a typical experience, and food was amazing !
