This is a great cafe to eat at in Kandy. I loved the atmosphere. U was with a group of thirteen and The staff was very cooperative in getting a table for us. Service was a bit slow but food was great. We just ordered vegetarian. The cafe does offer a reasonable amount of veg options. The wraps and broccoli... More

We came here in the afternoon for some wraps, juice, water and a desert. The wraps were fine - a four out of five. The juice with mixed coconut and lime was weird. Should have chosen sth else. The water was water but was the most expensive bottle I've seen in all of Sri Lanka. The quadruple chocolate cake was... More

Small cafe but quirky. We had really good service. My husbands curry was great value, mine quite small for similar price. Nice puddings. Need to remember they close at 8.30/9 pm.

Only stopped for a coffee after visiting the temple but I wished I was hungry because the food looked really good! Menu is mix of western and Sri Lankan with some great looking homemade ice creams and beverages. Prices are on the cheap side of anything for a place like this. Love the Sri Lankan take on vintage decor. And... More

We popped into Empire Cafe just for a drink and it was lovely. Would definitely return for food. Lovely smoothie - we had the passion fruit and mango and very friendly staff.

We stopped here to get out of the sun and only had drinks. The smoothies were lovely and the waiter was friendly and polite. We saw food coming out which looked good as well.

Starting off with the vibe: the place looked quite different from many other places in Kandy. It creates the illusion that it's a café with an ambience that serves good food and coffees; and is a great place to chill. There's nothing bad about the interior deco but it's not great either. Having said so, that's where the praise ends... More

After reading so much about this place, we were so happy to finally arrive there and seated under a fan. We asked for water while going through the menu and asked it 4 times before we were asked bottled?! Empire Breakfast and Chicken Burger were by far the better choices. The Empire Salad was an uneventful plate that were under... More

Had a great lunch here following a trip to Temple of the Tooth. Great food and service with modern surroundings all housed in a colonial building with terrace that's great for people watching.
