Soam is a regular lunch spot when we visit Mumbai. As Gujarati food is complex and seasonal, it is rarely done well outside of the home. Soam is the leading exception in Mumbai and possibly across India!

This small restaurant is very popular and does not take reservations, so be advised to go early to get a table. The menu offers many options of South Indian food, including popular street foods, as well as a large selection of drinks (non-alcoholic).

We came here for lunch and had the mixed appetizer late and kichida (a mixed rice dish with green marsala). Really good food and I enjoyed the service as well.

Being the cool season, we wanted to try out their oondhiyo. Needless to say, it was great along with poories. Also had one or two other regular dishes with freshlime soda. Excellent experience. Very reasonable prices too
