We went to Ziya for dinner in early January. It’s quite a modern restaurant, located in the Oberoi hotel, which is magnificently deigned. The restaurant itself was nice with a broad menu available, including a vegetarian and non-vegetarian menu. We opted to go for a la carte and had a selection of dishes across the menu, the highlight of which was a brilliant paneer dish and the Rajasthani lamb chop. The salmon and a potato dish were less inspiring. Service was great, but it’s certainly on the expensive side, so lacks the value for money of some other restaurants we ate at during our time in India. Was rather quiet for a Thursday night and was pretty cold with the air con on. Overall was a very good meal and a great, but albeit expensive, option if you are in the Nariman Point area.

My wife and I have had the chance to eat at a few of Chef Vineets restaurants around the world, all of which have been superb. And Ziya is not any different, it’s superb food and an amazing experience. The service was brilliant there was only one minor error at the start of our meal (a dirty knife set out on the table), but that was rectified quickly and efficiently. The staff are very knowledgeable about the menu, the ingredients and even the story behind the hotel. We tried quite a few dishes from the menu - chickpea chaat, lamb gulati and Rajasthani lamb chops amongst others. But the two standout dishes for me were the charcoal prawns and the malai chilli lobster. The presentation for all of these dishes was outstanding and they all had the taste to match. It’s an experience I hope to have again when I return to Mumbai.

Simply amazing and set in the majestic Oberoi Hotel. The food is truly mouthwatering and ingeniously curated by the Michelin Star Chef Vineet Bhatia (MasterChefIndia) and his in-house talented Chefs Nayna and Saba. The dishes are a chic interpretation of classic Indian street based food twisted to tangle your tastebuds. You must try the signature deserts as genius! A booking here is a must as the place is extremely popular with both locals and tourists.

We ate at the Ziya opting for the impressions taster menu with wine paring. Sadly the whole experience was underwhelming. Initially there was a lack of wine to start and waited around 30 minutes without a drink. This was mentioned during the evening and addressed by the restaurant to a satisfactory conclusion. There are a couple of key factors that needs to be mentioned. The samosa was incredibly hard pastry . The water described it as filo pastry however it was difficult to cut into without it almost flying off the plate. Filo pastry in my experience is crispy and light- the complete opposite. The lobster course was served only just warm and the bread from that course wasn’t good.I was offered a replacement at the time but declined and ultimately it was taken off the bill. This shouldn’t have been allowed to go out of the kitchen without being the correct temperature. Ultimately it wasn’t a good experience there was constant change of waiters, the beginning courses were very slow and the latter somewhat fast. Food temperatures questionable and drink timings poor. The chef did come out to speak to us and we said to him it must be difficult to run a tasting menu at the same time as an a la carte menu but we were left disappointed with the food. One thing I would like to mention is the fish course and the lamb course was very tasty. I’m sorry to write a negative review but feel very strongly that what should have been a good experience was let down throughout the meal.

I went there for dinner and as soon as I entered the ambience was amazing ,the music was nice and mellow just for the background, The service was great and they catered to my every need. If I was torn between two things and was deciding what to get they would give me half of both of the things for the price of one. The food was like nothing I had ever had before as everything was unique or at least had some small unique element to it. The menu was unlike any menu I had seen before as it had very different classifications. The food arrived at my table very quickly after I had ordered it, and it was nice and fresh. As soon as it arrived the presentation was very beautiful And caught my attention immediately. This experience was quite different from wherever I went earlier and I quite loved that unique and different experience. There was a complimentary Papad selection and small drink. If I asked them for something a bit off the menu, they would still prepare it as a custom dish especially for me. The food even if not spicy, had a lot of spices in it and was quite complex which gave it a very nice flavour and it was delicious. The cuisine was Indian and fusion, yet the items on the menu I had never seen before or even heard of. Yet that combination of flavours and textures still amazed me and I was awestruck at how in my mind the weirdest of combinations they made to taste good. My overall experience was great and the staff was very helpful it had to be one of The best dinners I had ever had in my life.

I love Indian food, but like any cuisine, if you eat it regularly enough it all starts to taste the same. Ziya, however, breaks the mold. Unique flavors but still utterly Indian. Creative menu, beautiful surroundings, attentive staff, and calming atmosphere. Such a great place.

I am a very complicated client for an Indian Chef. I don’t like spicy food, I am allergic to garlic and I don’t digest raw onions. So, when I am traveling to India, I am always concerned as I never know what to eat. This time I have been very lucky. At the Zija Restaurant in the Oberoi Hotel in Mumbai, we have been spoiled and taken care with such a great attention by the young Chef Shankar that our dinner has been a total joy. Food as been tasty but not spicy, diverse and generous. Service has been perfect. I recommend this restaurant to all the ones who want to spend a special evening and are not so used to Indian food. Thank you, Shankar.

Ziya was the first upscale restaurant we visited in Mumbai and it set the bar exceptionally high. The menu has an incredible breadth of delicious dishes, and the service was excellent, with our waiter providing spot-on recommendations for us Westerners. The mustard chicken tikki was incredible, and was the best chicken I've had in my life, and was most elevated 'simple' Indian dish that we had during our entire 10-day trip. A 'must visit' for u[scale Indian fusion dining.

My husband and I ate two nights running at Ziya and the experience was truly memorable on both occasions. The setting, looking out onto the twinkling lights of Marine Drive sets the ambience for the theatre to follow. Each dish is presented beautifully like a work of art , with the textures and flavours blending sublimely. The service was top notch, professional but with warmth and personality . I’d highly recommend a visit here.

Below average food. I ordered an appetiser that had icecream and ingredients didn't go well together. I ordered a lamb biryani which was tastless and I had to order mango pickle, even my chef at home does a better job with the biryani. The service was top notch and the staff was very attentive.

An Indian culinary masterclass. Set inside the world famous Oberoi Hotel, Ziya is exceptional in every aspect. Head chef Shankar is understudy to Michelin Star Chef Vineet Bhatia who has curated a menu full of eastern promise and so much Plant Based vegan options too. From the fantastic meet and greet to the beautiful intimate setting, your senses and tongue are on a journey of satisfaction. Honestly if you think curry think Ziya as it’s that good. A very popular place with all of Mumbai A-List together with tourists, a booking is essential and very easy to make. A worthy challenger for being one of the best Indian restaurants in the World!!! It’s that good!

Ziya is outstanding. We dined there twice during our recent stay in Mumbai (2024), and on many additional evenings during our previous visits to Mumbai. The food is excellent! The service also is wonderful. The food and menus are inspired by famous Michelin-starred Chef Vineet Bhatia. The ambience is wonderful with views looking out large windows to the ocean. We look forward to dining here again.

Been to this beautiful restaurant twice now with my family. The food quality is really good although being with my vegetarian friends. The bar menu is quite extensive and served nicely. The staff is very courteous and keeps checking to make sure the guest are enjoying there time without any interruptions. A big thumps up to the service, would definitely visit again.
