We were recommended here by a few folks - we were hesitant as some of the reviews weren’t great. There seems to be a lot of waiting staff for a relatively small space - and to be honest we felt a little uncomfortable at times...as it seemed we were just being watched the whole time . The food was good however and the waiter did recommend a slightly different dish which turned out to be very good. The restaurant became extremely busy with one large table of brits who were really noisy and because it’s pretty small the acoustics were a bit unbearable- we didn’t linger once they’d arrived - also there were folks waiting to sit down so we did feel as though we were being chivvied out. All in all - a bit too touristy for what we normally look for - prices also a bit higher that we anticipated but food was good - just go with these things in mindMore

Had the most amazing meal here on our last night in Mumbai. Patrap was amazing and gave us a lot of insight. Fresh crab, prawn cooked in garlic butter (and I mean a lot, just how it should be) also shared a spring roll which...I would highly recommend. Would 100% eat here again and I think compared to UK prices, where it’s not often fresh. This was cheap and well worth a visit.More

The chilli Jumbo crab and tandoori prawn with rice was very good. Fresh sweet crab and fresh firm prawn, There were about 12 staff for 8 diners in a place that looks like a cross between an old railway carriage and the last scene in...the Sopranos. The wine was terrible.More

Good food but now has become very touristy and overpriced. The black pepper fish was very disappointing- dry and flavorless. The other dishes were okay.

Trishna was a restaurant that everyone recommended to me so of course I was going to go. It is a very well known and busy restaurant and in the days prior to Christmas it was super busy. I walked past it accidentally one day so...ventured in to check availability but they were full but happily gave me some times to return and they would seat me.. True to their word, when I returned the following day they sat me at a large table (for 4 or 6 I guess) although I was a single. That didn't seem to phase them. I thought they had put me in Siberia but within 15 minutes the rest of the room was full with families, singles, couples. It is probably a little overrated but the seafood is fresh and delicious and the service is excellent if not a bit too "in your face". It's not glamorous, just functional & the food is great. I really enjoyed the experience and think everyone would. It seems very family friendly regardless of how young the children are.More

So much hyperbole. So much chatter. Oh you simply must go. It really is the best. Ad infinitum. So I went. And I was so desperately hoping Trishna was going to be the one. In a land of deities, the seafood demigod. The chosen one....Positives: I was dining solo. And busy, expensive gaffs don’t like solo guests blocking a table. I get it. And when I called them they were clear, 7pm was better that 8pm (for them). I thought that was actually an up front reasonable concession. The dinning room: Four seater booths. Plenty of room too. Lovely aquariums (for looking not for eating). I liked the space. Oh yes. The performative seafood: The staff will bring out live crab, huge prawn and lobster to show you, the punter in a seafood restaurant, a) what these things look like, and b) how big they are. It’s hilarious. I swear the crab rolled its many eyes at one point. The crab bibs: Oh yes. You’ll get a bib if you order crab. Cause you’ll make a mess. The seafood: Hail the fish; hail the crustacean; and hail the fisherthems for bringing them in. The staff: Hungry to please. Attentive. Decent people. The experience: I ordered Bombay duck. Jumbo prawn (tandoori) and large crab in butter garlic sauce. Plus a naan. The BD was simply fried white fish. Non of the complexity I was expecting. Have I missed something? The jumbo prawn. A ridiculous prawn tail I suspect is more akin to a lobster tail than a real prawn. Anyway, it was overdone on the griddle by 60 seconds. It was fine. The crab. Stunning. The less than positives: They want you in and out ASAP. noticeably so. The staff are too attentive. To the point when it can feel a bit much, relax guys. The cooking is good but it isn’t great. My prawn (1100 rs) was griddled but overdone. I don’t expect that. The offer. I think Trishna is a good but not great restaurant, but is trading off its socials. Glad I went but think I’d look elsewhere. Must say the many punters looked very happy when I was there.More

We went to this place to celebrate my wife's birthday after searching for a seafood restaurant in Mumbai. This restaurant is overtly hyped. Extremely costly. A meal for me and my wife cost me £214.75 which included a £35 bottle of wine. There were more...waiters than customers in that place. It is tiny and closed-in. Althouth I cannot fault the service of the waiter or the food, the price they charge is extortionate. We had a similar dinner at the Khyber for £67.50. I would give it a miss unless you want to eat there and regret your pocket on reflection. Give it a miss. Many more similar and better reataurants nearby which are cheaper.More

the crabs are hugely overpriced!! the food is good but not everything. It is best to avoid red sauces. They are not good. There should be a better choice of vegetables accompaniement as potato fries are rubbish

Was good but not as great as I imagined. A bit over hyped. Tables are too close to each other and we were a bit squeezed. Food was good but nothing spectacular.
