Reviewed yesterday NEW

I visited for the first time in Kunga in my recent trip to Darjeeling. In fact I got the reference from Tripadvisor and decided to check it out. The restaurant is so very small and is nestled at the end of a road leading to the Mall, that one can easily miss it. It had five tables in total and... More

Portions are very generous. I ordered soup for my kids and with my city experience. I think I had ordered a Chicken Wai-Wai and a chicken Thenkthup with dumplings. Both portions were so huge and they could finish only half. Taste was very good. We also ordered a fried rice and chow mien, which again was a generous portion. I... More

Best steamed momos that I ever had. Juicy chicken filings, tasty, mildly flavoured. Unfortunately went post lunch and could not try other dishes. A small place with capacity for about 24(rough estimation) people. Service with a smile

I have been to many restaurants in my life to safely say there's a lot to learn from this place- no matter who you are. What sets them apart is that they care. And caring is a virtue nearly extinct, often deemed pointless, sadly. When they ran out of Tibetan tea, the owner cared enough to go out of his... More

I declare it your duty to try their shafales, Tibetan meat pies, and gyathuks, a creamy soup with thick spaghetti-like noodles and meat. Kunga’s counts Hindi film actor Ranbir Kapoor among its fans – he had “freaked out” on Kunga’s Tibetan delicacies during a film shoot.

Superb momo's (they take a while to be made compared with the other food) - would highly recommend the chicken cheese steamed momo's. The vegetable cheese momo's were also delicious although a little hard to handle with the solid fried exterior. Service with a smile.
