Drove from Gulf Shores area to do some sightseeing and asked a local about where to eat. Wintzell's was the recommendation so we tried it. The food was OK and service was relatively slow. Shrimp and fish entrees were typical fried fare, nothing to get excited about. It took quite a while for us to get our check and pay.... More

We received good service in a pleasant atmosphere, however the food was only average for similar restaurants in this area.

We ate dinner here our first evening in Fair Hope, and it was great. Truly a local's place. Warm, friendly, welcoming, and really good food. Would return if in the area again.

Arrived early around 6:00 pm on a Friday in late October and the restaurant was only about 1/4 full. Therefore, the service was very fast and friendly. The boiled shrimp appetizer was excellent, the red snapper special entrée was good but not exceptional (drenched in craw fish sauce.) Will return on next visit to Grand Hotel.

We stopped for coffee and key lime pie. The service was very good but the coffee was old and the key lime pie was dull - it was not even tart. The dinner food may be good but pass this up for coffee and pie.

Typical fried seafood, service was good, wish we would have tried something different than the fried seafood, even though good just not great

Oyster sampler is delicious, gumbo is definitely in my top 10 list, fried shrimp is very good, and service was timely and comfortable. Staff went out of their way to make our visit enjoyable. Kitchen made the food memorable. And the sayings, stickers, kitch that blanket the walls adds to the charm of the place. Definitely worth the visit when... More

This was my second visit in one month and I am from Mississippi. The service was was great. And both times I got the fish tacos and sweet potato fries and they were the best ever. Not to mention I bought Wintzell's hot sauce and I love it.

First for the positive. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant. Pretty fun upbeat atmosphere and the staff is friendly. The food is ok if you like bar food. My wife had the Cobb salad which she enjoyed. Now for the complaint. This place is very slow and if you have little kids it's not ideal at all. There were... More
