My sister and I have so many food allergies that we often have to just eat whatever might work for us. However the chef here, worked with our individual intolerances and modified dishes that normally were not either gluten or dairy free into dishes we could eat. We sat by the big windows overlooking the small pier and the river.... More

There were not many people in the restaurant, and I understand why. The food was just not very good. I have eaten at the Fish Market in Hoover many times, and it is far superior to this location. The hushpuppies were mushy on the inside and the fish was overcooked and hard. The baked potato was not hot and it... More

I ordered the Rainbow Trout with potatoes and cole slaw to go. The order was ready as soon as I arrived and the staff was very pleasant. When I got back to eat, it was neatly presented and full of flavor. Absolutely amazing dish, especially since it wasn't eaten as soon as it was cooked. The only thing I was... More

Atmosphere is relaxing, with a beautiful view of the river and with a wonderful team of waiters/waitresses. Food is good, a little pricey, however you do get large portions. My favorite is the sampler, yum.

We had planned to eat at an Italian restaurant nearby but it was closed. A quick TripAdvisor search and we headed to The Fisk Market. The parking lot was almost empty, but we trusted the reviews. Turns out people were at home watching Alabama in a playoff game. I had Parmesan Tilapia, baked potato and baked beans. My wife had... More

They also serve meat and good steaks, but at this place you have to go for fish. Was here already a couple of times and it was always good. The atmosphere is great and the staff friendly. There is also an excellent choice of beers, with a couple local ones. The portions are big and I can recommend crab dip... More

I was so happy to eat at the Fish Market in Gadsden since it's one of my favorite restaurant. The food was ok but not as good as the Birmingham restaurant. First the fried pickles were soggy. The baked beans were too soupy and the hush puppies too hard. The grilled salmon and fried flounder were ok but not great.... More

been there numerous times with always the same experience...Great! Broiled Wild Salmon, Greek Potatoes, and Boiled Cabbage. Salmon has a special blend of spices that help to bring out all the flavor of the salmon. You would think you are in one of the high-dollar New Orleans restaurants.

We had to get off the main route a few mikes but it was worth it. Definitely sit outside on the patio if the weather permits, it's beautiful! The food was good, service was good. Overall a very nice experience.

Stopped here for lunch. Great view of the lake. Fresh fish restaurant and market. I had snapper and ocean scallops grilled as well as a Greek salad. All was delicious and I definitely will return

George Sarris founded The Fish Market in Birmingham more than three decades ago. When he expanded to Gadsden, protege Charlie Hayes came to get the fledgling establishment on its feet. In short order, Sarris entrusted his brand to Hayes, who tailored The Fish Market concept to suit the needs and desires of his new "hometown." Tableside service, a booming catering business and partnerships with local producers are a few of the ways he has made The Fish Market part of the landscape of Gadsden. Corporate citizenship is an important part of The Fish Market's community commitment. Hayes and his staff, several of whom have been with him since the restaurant opened, host a shrimp and crawfish boil each May that benefits the James M. Barrie Center for Children, the local child advocacy center. Food is central to this story, and Hayes and his team bring in fresh seafood from the Gulf to ensure quality dining experiences. A variety of steaks, chops and salads means everyone can find something they love. The Coosa River is just steps away from the patio, and Good Time Charlie's Oyster Bar has the feel of a neighborhood pub. Come experience The Fish Market, and help us write the next chapter in our story.
