The food is always good & the staff is friendly. Your drink glass is always full and they offer a to go drink at no extra charge. Always a nice experience.

Still just quite average food, butterbeans and cornbread are pretty good, but I have to give credit in that the portions have gotten a LOT better and the servers are a LOT LESS STINGY with 'em, perhaps the TripAdvisor site has helped with that, lol......More
Cafeteria style meat and 3. Food was hot and nutritious. Sufficient choices. Servers were attentive and friendly. Food is a bit bland intentionally as for years customers complained if they served anything that seemed spicy. Consistent and 2 people can eat quickly for less than...More

Meat and three. Very busy and have been for years. Food is alright but I wouldnt say it is anything really special. Fried Green Tomatoes are the highlight.
I enjoy going to a buffet where you can see and select. There's a special bonus when you see that you've selected tasty food. I've never been disappointed at Home Plate Diner. It's always good food--just like good home cooking without the bother.
Food is OK, a bit bland for my tastes and a lot of fried items. Cobbler pie is good. Lots of seating space and quick service. We go only occasionally, when someone else suggests it.
