Had heard of this place from friends and Zomato. Even better than the reports. Spacious soothing ambience. Attentive polite serving staff. Many local Goans employed. We had their bacon omelette, eggs and bacon, cheese and ham croissants, croissants and steak. The croissants were easily the...best I have ever eaten. Not even in France have I had such great ones. Reasonable bill. And the icing on the cake for me, was complimenting the German owners in my 15 words of German. I learnt my 16th German word from them Essen= Food. Essen Lila Cafe is wunderbar!!More

Their preparations are fabulous. From outside you wouldn't figure its worth. You will find German flavors while in Goa.

Nice place with good and quick service and very tasty food. I've only been here for breakfast and see why this is one of the most popular breakfast locations. Very tasty food, I would definitely go back here when in that area.

Have been going here for years now and the place has maintained its consistency in food. Has very good croissants, breakfast options and great service. Is relaxed, comfortable and one of the most popular places in north Goa.

Ambience is just lovable. Had passed this white house many times but had not realized it had become a mall of sorts. Really cool setting with open sides and comfy chairs. Visited this place on Sunday morning. Was not too crowded. I ordered a strawberry...milkshake and a veg open sandwich with german bread. The sour dough bread was really good. Lots of tomatoes and cucumber with lettuce. Sometimes the presentation looks so good but then it becomes so difficult to eat that it takes away the fun. This sour dough bread being hard made just that. Strawberry milkshake was good. Service was real quick. Vegetarians don't have much to eat but the experience is nice. Do also try their rostiMore

Cafe Lila is on the main road between Arpora and Anjuna and well worth a visit. Nice garden setting and a great European style menu. They have a smoker and cure their own bacon which is as good as any dry cure or smoked I...have ever tasted. That includes a four star hotel I stayed at in France last easter. The omelet's are very good and the salads safe to eat. You can see into the food preparation area and those doing the prep or cooking are kitted out as you would be in a European kitchen. I believe the owner is German but the cakes or tarts are very French and the Strawberry tart is one not to be missed. Home made bread, cakes and great coffee too. The whole place is designed to sit, relax and relax over breakfast, lunch or just coffee. Well worth a trip out from the main resorts or call in when passing as I do. Just one more thing, Lila is not open in the evening, closes at six.More

I have been a regular at Lila Cafe for the last 10 years right from the time they used to be next to Baga river in Baga. Not a single trip to Goa is complete without visiting lila Cafe. What draws me here again and...again? The familiar food (German sausages, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, meat balls, roulade with spätzle, prawn avocado, spaghetti, stuffed omlettes and croissants) and healthy and refreshing drinks (strawberry juice, chikoo shake, avocado shake etc). They also serve some regular beers. Place has an easy, relaxed, unhurried vibe. The waiting staff also seem somewhat reluctant to serve you so be prepared to be ignored by the waiters. To my horror, on this visit I spotted aloo Gobi with rice, mix veg masala with rice and paneer mattar in the menu. I almost choked on my food. But I guess the place is changing to keep pace with the Indian vegetarian tourists who might be frequenting the place more often now. They also have a good collection of desserts. Sometimes I have also packed muesli and breads from there for takeaways. A trend I have noticed is that ever since they moved to Anjuna I have spotted a few empty tables at the cafe unlike Baga days where there used to be a queue of people always waiting outside the cafe to get in.More
