The Nyonya Laksa was super good. Loved it! Mee Siam was good too. One of the best mee siam I have had in a long time! Loved the Apom Berkuah and Pang Su Sie. Haven't had them for a long, long time. They were really, really good. The ondeh-ondeh was good too. Would definitely go back again whenever I go... More

Both my husband and I thought this place was very average. Being number 1 on TripAdvisor for restaurants in Melaka we were expecting something pretty great. We were baffled. The food was ok, the staff were friendly. There are many more fantastic restaurants and cafes in Melaka. I wouldn't go back.

HI! Thank you for your wonderful review. We are glad that you have enjoyed our laksa. Our laksa is the owner's great grandmother's version which has been passed down from generation to generation. Each family will have their own version of the laksa. We are also glad that you have enjoyed our authentic cendol! Please do come back for more... More

I came across this wonderful shop while strolling around Jonker street, slightly away from the crowded street and noise. The shop features Malaccan traditional pastries (or kuihkery... to be precise?) which are made with love by the shop owners. Considering the amount of effort, time and love put into the pastries, sweets and other sweet things, the price... More

As a Peranakan Patisserie Preservation Project, I would have expected a little more enthusiasm in introducing the menu to us. We were somewhat disappointed to be told that the best way to try a little of everything was to order the tea set, without any apparent interest in introducing the pastries or their culture/history to us. The mee siam and... More

This is the best peranakan food I've ever had in Melaka. Surprisingly the price is quite cheap and worth every single penny.

Simple peranakan home dishes prepared with sincerity by a humble family! The taste for all dishes, desserts was just so originally without additives and all are tasty! Will definitely be back for more again!

We popped into Straits Affair on a miserable monsoon day in Melaka. Our day was immediately improved by greetings from Isaac, the passionate owner of Straits Affair. His love for the cuisine is reflected in the restaurant's service, decor and food. The savoury range is small but covers the main staples of Nyonya and Malaysian cuisine. We loved the creamy... Visited the place as it's rank as #1 out of nearly 600 restaurants. Foods were quite good but don't think it deserve #1 ranking as there's many more restaurant taste lots better than this.

Hi. We are glad that you found our food "quite good". If you subjectively believe other restaurants taste better, by all means give other restaurants five stars. However if you did find our food, service and setting "quite good" then we believe we should be rated accordingly on our own merit, NOT based on a sole subjective personal opinion that... More
