Packed with line ups. Extremely hot in there. Fans blowing hot air. Line up to go in. And then line up again to order food. Self serve. Would not recommend. It’s essentially just a hawker stall inside an old shop house.

We went for cendol. As far as Jonker Street is concerned, this place is one of the better ones although cant compete with the one opposite the Clock Tower. But it is good none the less.
The hype is in the queue. Between the soursop ice and the durian chendol, the soursop was better. Hardly any durian smell, taste nor fruit. For the calories, there are other places that serve better chendols.
Short menu. The gula Melaka is good. You have to shout to make sure the cook hears you correctly. Many folks order their laksa but we didn’t so can’t comment. Fishcake is ordered and paid separately within the same restaurant (?!). The seating conditions are...bad. Queue snakes into the sun. I’m not certain if this is so worth your time queuing…More
We loved the place, despite the waiting time due to popularity. Pay in the back and sit eating ideally laksa with some cendol (in case its too spicy for you). Would go back anytime.
Dining with family when we visited Melaka. We ordered the nyonya laksa, baba laksa, nyonya cendol and durian cendol. The foods are much below expectation and especially the rude service from the owner. Will never go there again.
There was a long queue when we got there but halfway through the staff/owner asked who’s queuing just for chendol, we said we were and were ushered into the restaurant and directed to a row of seats without table.
Forever a lot of customers. Be prepared to wait, patiently queuing up for your turn. The most popular order is the cendol. I was captivated by the money notes exhibition. The many exhibitions are captivating.
Best chendol I have every taken in my 42 years of my life. I will come back again for sure. But don’t take away - or so nice. Have not try the laksa.
Went at 4pm with friends. Even that late in the afternoon, we still had to wain in line for 15 mins. Once allowed in and seated, you will go further into the restaurant to stand in line and order your food. They were very efficient...and we had our delicious dishes within 10 mins. The Asam laksa is the best I've ever tasted. Very rich and savory with lots of filling contents. A big portion that can easily fill a heavy eater or 2 small appettites. For desert, we also had their famous chendul. Refreshing and good without being overly sweet. A must place to dine when you are in MelacaMore
I came here for dinner and tried the Baba Laksa dish but I wasn't happy with the service, it was busy with a queue outside and I felt like they were rushing me through the meal. The food was really nice though, spicy but tasty!
The nyonya laksa was authentic and tasty. Chendol was the best! Good value. Must try if you are in Melaka!
Flavors were great, creamy coconut cream taste and really thick gula Melaka. But unlike traditional cendol where the coconut milk is poured over shaved ice, the cendol here has thick gula Melaka syrup poured over coconut cream flavored shaved iced. I prefer the gula Melaka...syrup to mix with the milk which you don’t get here - it ends up sticking to the spoon. So not the cendol experience I was looking for.More
Jonker 88's Nyonya Laksa, Melaka By far, this was one of our FAVOURITE culinary experiences in Melaka. We literally queued for half an hour under the blazing hot sun. But it was WORTH it. We went for the Baba Laksa instead of the Nyonya one....It was too good. Spicy, rich, flavoured with herbs.. Complemented with the Crispy Fried Fish Cake and Tofu Skin, it's hard to describe a better meal. The Chendol with Gula Melaka…. Heavenly… Apparently, they've been doing this since 1997.. The location is beautiful.. It's within a rustic colonial building with an open central roof for ventilation. Writing about this, especially when we're all the way in the UK now, is torture to the soul. I will vouch for this spot. Jonker 88 is definitely a must-visit in my opinion.More
Visited on a Sunday and they operate till 6pm. Reached only at 5.20pm but the stall owner was good with arranging seats for us. Ordered baba laksa with additional fishcake and stuff... And also durian chedol. Laksa was pretty spicy for me, but the fragrant...from the gravy did not stop me from drinking the gravy. Very special and unique. Not to be missed. Durian chedol it was ok ... Acceptable.More
