The chicken was definitely free range chicken. However taste wise... i think its okay only. The rice balls were mushy (i guess it has to be mushy to form a ball) i went early about 10ish and managed to be third in queue. Mmmm... can give a miss if the queue is too long.

Arrived after 230pm on a Thursday and there was no queue. First time trying the chicken rice balls in Melaka. Previous times were thwarted due to the long queues. The chicken rice balls were pretty small (about 50 cents coin size) and one orders about 5 per person serving. RM0.40 per ball. The pricing is very simple: Only poached chicken... More

Don't even bother going to Hoe Kee or Jonker chicken rice ball.. This is for sure the best in the area! From the delicious steamed chicken to the excellently-rolled rice balls, the food here is definitely worth the queue!

When you're around the Red Square or Jonker Street, you couldn't miss the long queue to enter this restaurant. Said to be the first and most famous chicken rice stalls in Malacca, Chung Wah will provide you with the famous chicken rice balls along with the steamed chicken. No frills, in comparison with other competitors. Just these two dishes and... More

The exterior of the shop looks really old and nostalgic but, please don't judge the food from the outlook of the shop. The chicken rice are really out of the world because it wasn't those typical served chicken rice that we have anywhere. The rice balls was an added bonus as it enhances the dish. It is a "Must EAT"... More

Over expected after reading comments online. Ok lunch and long queue before getting in to order. Preferred rice on plate then in ball shape. Chicken was ok.

I think my one word to describe it is 'overrated' but okay... it is worth a try. The shop is located at the start of the Jonker Street, so you won't miss it. If there is a queue, you can skip it. The chicken is tender and fresh. The rice ball... hmmm... seem just average to me. Lucky, the shop... More

You'd miss this shop if it weren't for the snaking queue at the small entrance. This is simply the BEST chicken rice ball in town - and there are several within a 500m radius at Jonker Walk. The chicken is succulent while the rice balls are soft and flavourful. Queued for 15 mins on a scorching hot public holiday but... More
