The Chicken Rice Ball Shop, Melaka! This place we have visited for many years, it’s almost obligatory when in Melaka! A true hole in the wall corner eating house with a long tradition! 1824 the building was erected! 1973 the beginning of the chicken rice...ball story As mentioned we have been a number of times over the years, menu is straight forward (see attached) and the order will almost always be the same, per person 5 rice balls, 1/2 a Kampong Chicken for two! Loads of ginger chili sauce, a few slices of Cucumbers! That’s it! Of course a nice cup of Teh Tarik, to wash it all down! My Dining Partner, Sven, who has lived near Melaka, for 17 years, a true blue senior from Sweden, and formerly an avid Biker (Harley’s & Ducati’s) was enjoying this as much as I did! However, it appears the standard has somewhat dropped, maybe the fame got to them? Who knows! Still a fun place to visit and enjoy a simple meal! #singapore #foodsg #sgfoodie #sgfoodporn #gourmet #cuisine #foodagram #foodaddict #SGfood #sgfoodstagram #sglifestylesingapore #melaka #melakaeats #jonkermelaka #chickenriceball #chickenriceMore

The chicken was quite average. My first time trying chicken rice balls, conclusion is I prefer grainy chicken rice, to this that is mushed and shaped into balls. Portion wasn’t big but we didn’t finish the food. We got there around 11:20am on a Saturday...and stood in line for over half an hour. Not worth a second visit.More

Wanted to introduce chicken rice balls to the kids. This is one of the oldest restaurants around Jonker Street. Parking available at RM3 per entry opposite Casa del Rio hotel at a big open air car park. Maneuvering the children to walk along a single...lane road with no pedestrian sidewalk was daunting. Overall I feel the rice balls were very soft and cold and I prefer normal hot piping chicken rice. If you would like to try it for the novelty then be early as there is no queues at 10-11am. Bill was about RM80 for 1 chicken, 7 plates of rice balls and 5 drinks.More

📍Chop Chung Wah 中华茶室海南鸡饭, Jonker Street @ Melaka My first time ever trying Melaka's famous Chicken Rice Ball. We waited in the sweltering sun for nearly an hour just for this! With over 20 years of experience, this shop had industrious vibes. Patrons were thronging...in and out quite constantly. The Chicken Rice Balls had a gingery rich taste, which was really palatable and nice. The chicken served was also prepared well. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, something I'm glad I've done and dusted. I'm not the biggest fan of chicken rice in general anyway, Our trip to Melaka for 2 nights was more than a month ago, before the floods at this very moment. Wishing the Melaka folks safety in the midst of these trying moments.More

The quality of the food has dropped. The rice balls were cold and bland, and the chicken was more bones than meat.

Was surprised there’s no queue on a public holiday. Probably due to number of rice ball you can order with each chicken

Love the chicken rice but the size gets smaller each time we visit. They have the best chicken rice chili in town. Their service was fast, and they usually sold out by 12:30pm. Be prepared to wait and queue along the road, under the sun....Therefore, I would recommend bringing an umbrella.More

The Chicken Rice Balls are overrated. The coffee shop is hot, dirty, unpleasant. Long queues, and not worth it. Nothing special about this place

We tried Hinanse chicken, very tender chicken liver with Rice Balls. I could not really tell how much it is better than other chicken rice but rice ball stands out. Probably all yummy juice from the chicken goes to those tiny rice balls. Expect a...long line at lunch time (or go early). Easy to find location near the start of famous Janker Street. Very reasonable price. Another famous place in Malaka is Hoe Kee Chicken Rice Ball.More

This is a must eat place for me whenever I come to Melaka. As usual, the queue was long probably due to Christmas. Managed to get a table for four within 15 minutes. Both chicken and rice balls were delicious as always although the price...is expensive.More
