This was my second time since last year and it didn’t disappoint. In fact it surpassed all expectations. With a bigger group, we could order more and we had excellent service by host, Michael, who really was good at helping us make choices. Each dish...was super delicious. Must haves are the baked snapper fish, chicken curry dable, creamy garlic mussels, prawns in Sambal petai and mutton rendang, down all of this with blue tea and finish off with awesome gula melaka and amazing Chendol. This was voted best meal during our entire holiday by my family.More

A bar with some local foods? This is the place! The waiter was friendly and converse well in both English and Mandarin. The Portuguese grilled fish here is said to be better than many other restaurant in Melaka, and it tasted really great (but the...portion of the fish was a bit too big for just two of us)! The waiter also recommended us their "Gula Melaka chicken wings" which had marvellous taste! Their recommended house wines were of my preferences as well. To be at such nice ambiance with my lady, with such good food and drinks... C'est la vie~ ^__^More

This bar is one of the few places that's open till late , considering that in Melaka, most cafes and bars close early in normal days and is only open late on weekends. I'm here for holiday on a weekday (Mon to thursday) and all...other places are closed . The price here is good and the staffs are very accommodating. Not over crowded and u can find parking just along the bar. There's a few massage shops so we went for a foot massage after a pint and they even allowed us to take our beers into the massage shop to drink while getting a massage. Even the massage shop guys allowed it. So accommodating and nice to see how they work together. I really recommend this place for people who wanna chill out and have conversations. This place isnt for the high flyer clubber on weekdays. Its relaxed and not noisy on weekdays. However on weekends , its busier than usual, like all the other places in melaka. They even have an indoor karaoke station where u can request songs and sing it if u r into that kinda thing. The bar food and snacks price starts at rm12. It's reasonable. In Melaka, the clubbing culture is only for weekends (Friday and saturday). That too either in beginning of month or month end during salary day. So if u r looking for serious partying, go to KL or penang.More

Not along the busiest road so easily overlooked. Staff are accommodating which adds to the appeal of this place. We were allowed to sit outside and smoke, which was a flat no elsewhere in the area. The entertainer was a lone vocalist singing on minus...one, but she was good. You wouldn't need to queue for a table but I would give a good review of this place. Prices reasonable and generally no fuss about this place. We actually need places like this, where they resist saying no until absolutely in a corner. I miss places like these..More

I cannot comment on the food cause the food never arrived. 20 minutes after taking the order, the waiter comes to the table to tell us that they are out of ingredients to make the cereal prawn. I wonder why it took 20 minutes. 5...minutes later the same waiter comes to table again to tell me that the tamarind prawns are also not available. In the mean time, none of the other items we ordered ever came to the table. While the other 2 tables managed to get their food, eventually after about 40 minutes I asked what was going on - not to mention complimentary sago desert served along with the main-courses. The waiter bluntly told me that there is an issue in the kitchen, so I bluntly told him good night and walked out.More

Visited here as a couple and a friend. Staff are friendly but that’s pretty much where the good points end. We had the vegetable soup and salmon fried rice, both of which were tasteless to the extent that we had to force ourselves to eat....We also had one of the Portuguese chicken curries. This was very spicy but had nothing much else going on apart from spice. Also the jug of coke we had was flat. Reading other reviews it seemed we must have picked the wrong dishes but judging by what we had it was pretty poor. Finally the place was a bit dirty and there was an odd smell. Overall I wouldn’t visit again.More

The quality of food was delicious, the problem in this place is the menu, is a lot of options for food last 2 visits I have a problem because of 4 dishes I order 3 are not available, so check the menu and ask what...is the food they have, a lot of the dishes on the menu are not available to order, is a big shame i visit several times this place, the taste and quality of food still good, but this last 2 times I ordered and 4 minutes later they said this dishes we don’t have, few chicken orders, crab, vegetables, soups, etc most of them don’t have. So better ask the waitress, what they have to place a order and not get disappointed. This could be a excellent restaurant but they decided to stay hooked on the time and not improved. Excellent food with limited options, in a huge menu, but just in the paper.More

Two sister restaurants next to each other. One Nyonyan style and the other Portuguese. We tried both and found the menu extensive (they are happy for you to mix it up across both styles) and staff very friendly. The Portuguese Mussels in cream garlic sauce...were the best my wife has ever tasted. Going back again tonight.More

We wanted a quick bite and although we were in Malacca for Nonya food w wanted a change and Portuguese sounded good. It is really Portuguese Goan food so do not think you will have genuine Portuguese, but it was very good. We had the..."Portuguese" chicken curry and it was great, so different from the normal North or South Indian or SE Asian that you get. We talked to the shy Chef, Shwe Kim, and she told us it had chili, lemongrass and vinegar and none of the other usual spices. It was mildly spiced, which what we had asked for. Some excellent garlic stir fried square beans and Brindjal finished the meal. Highly recommended, not just because of the chefs excellent food but also the waitress (CT) who was fabulous, bouncing about and very enthusiastic. She really helped make the meal.More

Our family used to enjoy the food and we even recommended friends to try. Lately, I find that their standard has dropped. The cushion on the chairs are dirty, the atmosphere is just not there any more. Air-conditioning was bad. Food wise, 5/10.

Pros: Just a block off Jonker Walk this place is unassuming and delicious! Go for the chefs recommended items, I loved the Chicken Dabal Curry, and as an American missing chicken wings after a few months, the Portuguese wings we're the best I've had while...in Asia. Cons: A little pricey compared to neighboring restaurant, but still only 35 RM for two plates of food. Also some weird 1950s rock was on the speakers...More
