Just Another Muara Ikan Bakar

2nd nite in Melaka and decided to try this place instead of the other usual places. Do nake booking before coming as the place is quite crowded from 8pm onwards. Nasi lemak was great traditional melaka nasi lemak and sambal. Chilly curry crab was good. Butter prawn was a slight letdown it taste butter but not the usual butter prawn that u eat at chinese seafood restaurant. Sotong goreng was great fresh and crunchy. Kerang rebus a must try. Ikan merah asam pedas and bakar chilly was superb. Among all the muara ikan bakar in Melaka I reccomend this one. To me it just simply taste better.

Dissapointing

It used to be good but as the restaurant grows the quality of food drop. Everything just taste normal nothing special that deserves mention. Price wise if u stay away from crab n prawns then the price will be low. Restaurant is clean and comfortable enough. Service was average.

Worth the drive here

Revisited , we really like the small nasi lemak bungkus here , seafood was fresh , service was nice and friendly , we had the boiled cockles , stir fry vegetables, tamarind fried prawn was tasty , fried butter quid was crispy , bbq stingray was fresh . I Forgot to take the otak otak stick and belacan eggplant 🍆 dish which was awesome too , nice water front ambience with the sound of the waves splashing . Overall we were happy dining here .

Disappointing

Disappointing and not worth the try. Went there during cny, it was jammed packed and we got to eat after about 45 minutes of waiting but since it was holiday so it was tolerable. The food was tasteless and disappointing, and the price was BLOODY EXPENSIVE for only two person. The squids was not fully cooked and the rice tasted like the cheap and low grade one. I do really NOT RECOMMEND this restaurant.

Prompt service and food maintain as ever

Seafood in Melaka is not complete without a trip here.Was intro since 20 years ago and I must say the place is cleaner than before They provide prompt service probably we were there between 5 pm before peak dinner time. Food taste and serving portion maintained. The price is reasonable for a real spread of crabs,prawns,1 fish, cockles,egg omelette,1 plate of veg 6 nasi lemak for 4 person( during selection they help us to decide how many grams we should order so dat not of waste😆😆) .

I’m not sure this is the right restaurant that I wanna comment but since I’m giving a 5 star rating so no harm being wrong. The food is improving as I could impressively differentiate then and now. The Malays are very friendly and good manner. Definitely will revisit . For those who love quality seafood may give it a try instead of the umbai, they are over pricy and service so so.

good foods, but we literally wait for 1.5 hours (queue + sit and wait on table) there are way too many people and we had to wait for foods from 8pm to 10pm. how severe is that. the drink also is in a very small cup. way very expensive so i recommend to not come if u dont want to waste ur time.

Fresh seafood in casual surroundings

Choose your fish, choose your cooking method, get some veggies on the side and either nasi lemak or white rice. It is the classic kelong-like concept and it's done well here. You're not expecting anything fancy, just good food by the water. The fried squid was so good we ordered a 2nd plate.

Very disappointing. Service was fast but not the same could be complimented to the taste. And the price is quite unreasonable with the taste that you get. Better opt for Parameswara Umbai or Alai.

Must Try!

I was recommended to visit this place to have my seafood cravings fixed. Not disappointed at all! I had grilled stingray with cili, fried squid, a plate of rice and iced tea (all by myself) for only SGD16/USD12! Best to come during off peaks, restaurant opens at 1630 so be sure to come down early as it is usually packed! Recommended if you are a seafood lover like me. It is only 16 mins drive from Malacca City Center.

We ate there on Saturday evening, it was jammed packed. Better to call and make reservations as it will be full of people. The food is nice, the seafood is big. Go try.

Total Rip off! Taste like pet food, RAW!

Came here after read some good reviews, end up with a nightmare! For 2 adults and 2 kids, we ordered ginger steamed sea bass, mixed vegetables, buttered fried prawns, 2 iced Milo, 1 orange juice, and 1 plain water. All tasted horrible! Fish still tasted fishy, like not cooked, and no taste at all, just like it just boiled in plain water. Prawns too oily and salty, vegetables overcooked. Rice were lumpy and very hard, using lowest and cheapest rice grade. Drinks come in small paper cups. No utensils and cuttlery given. My poor kids can't eat at all. On top of that, we were charged bloody RM120.00. With no receipt and price tags whatsoever, someone should report this to KPDNKK. I don't understand why this place even got good reviews before. I give 0 star if I could.

First time in my life,need to queue before can go inside. Lots of ppl when we arrived around 9++PM (school holidays maybe) Systematic..the process from getting the table untill end.. Tasty foods. Although not many types seafoods u can choose but its enough for us. Price? Reasonable price I think compared what service they gave. Can't add more pictures since size more than 5MB Open till 12 midnight. Overall-very satisfied.
