Friend suggested here for lunch. The first thing that comes to mind is don't think Nyonya/Peranakan food is going to be nice in Malacca, unless it is home cooked. When arrived at the shop, there were not that many customers. Maybe we were early. There is no printed menu, but the menu was written on blackboards and hung on the wall inside the shop, The owner came to us to take our order. With that sort of impression, really lost in what to order. So, asked the owner to suggest. She suggested Assam pedas with ikan pari (assam pedas with manta ray), telur cincalok (fried egg with cincalok), and sambal petai with pork. AS there were only 2 of us, that should be enough. When the food arrived, Tasted it. Well, was proven wrong for the first impression. The food is really good. Very surprising. Most of the well known Nyonya restaurants provided nyonya cooking but it was not delicious or mediocre. For the portions, it is not cheap. However, the good taste compensates for it. Will come back again to try other dishes whenever back in Malacca.

Quaint little restaurant that gives a feeling of being in a Malaysian home. The menu was handwritten on a chalkboard that lies on the side of the wall. The food was really amazing. We had the chicken pongteh, bak cili garam, lemak nenas ikan (with prawns), and egg with bilis. Every single dish felt like a love letter to Malaysian cuisine. My favourite was the chicken pongteh and the lemak nenas. My family loved the cili garam pork. The egg and bendi were a pleasant surprise as well. Even the drinks that we had were great. We had the serai ginger honey lemon which really soothes the throat with the warmth from the ginger. We also had 3 servings of cendol. Perfect way to end a fantastic meal. We only wished we had found this place earlier during our visit. Can't recommend highly enough! The owner and the family are lovely people too! She was very accommodating in explaining the different pre-made frozen products that were available for purchase. Thank you for the brilliant meal.

Take it from a Malacca Straits-born who grew up eating peranakan (Baba and Nyonya) food. ‘Our Place’ laksa is worth waking up early for. Only on Saturdays (from 08:30) and make a reservation if you want to make sure you get a a taste of this thick, mouth-watering laksa. There was a generous helping of the daun kesung and cockles... stuffs that make a Laksa truly authentic Nyonya!!

The food was nice. Especially Lemak Nanas FIsh and Sambal FIsh/Sotong/Udang. They have a great service and friendly too. The food were highly recommended. They have great oldies too. There's something special for their dessert which is Cendol with coconut ice cream. Not shave ice but coconut ice cream with cendol's topping. The dessert is highly recommended too !!!

Tried their curry chicken, pongteh bak, and bak asin. Curry chicken is very thick curry. taste is good. Pongteh bak is superb. Love it. the pork is cook very well, melted in my mouth. Highly recommended. Wanted to try pongteh chicken as well, but very early sold out already. Bak asin is 3 layer pork. 2 words to describe it "very salty". and the pork smell very obvious. not recommended for this dish. Each set come with white rice and some salad. Reasonable price.

I wouldn't say it was great, but then I only tried one dish - the Chicken Chop with Buttermilk Gravy. I also ordered iced soya bean. No complaints about the soya bean. The chicken chop was very tasty, but it got a bit buttery after awhile. Every dish comes with rice and vegetables on a separate plate. The whole meal cost RM10.30 - RM8.50 for the chicken chop and RM1.80 for the soya bean. Wifi is available here. Take note that this is a non-halal shop. There's ample parking space outside. The parking in the "square" is free. You'll need a parking coupon for the other parking spaces outside (RM0.60 an hour). The owner was very friendly and chatty. The decor and atmosphere were conducive for a relaxing day with friends. I came here with a group of 16 people. All in all, it's a nice place to chill and hang out with friends on a budget. The rest who ordered Senangin, Babi Asam Garam and Pongteh Chicken said that those were very tasty. Will go back and try those on my next visit. =)
