Food is tasteless, service is below average. Waiters were annoyed whenever we ask for our curry or drinks. Not many choices of curry for a banana leaf and they are not happy to serve us when we ask for a top up.

The banana leaf was pre- served in a plate, they did not ask what we want and how much we want. So stingy wit the portion. The number of ppl serving was one two many and they hv no proper communication. Food : bland and...tasteless, even the sambal was flat. Service: they all look annoyed everytime we ask for drink, sambal or even top of for curry Variety: only two curry options which was so boring My last visit for sureMore

If you are looking for plush decor and sophisticated ambiance, this is not for you. If you want to feel the real atmosphere, here it is! This is a great place to go for genuine south Indian food. The curries are delicious and served in...the traditional manner. The service is excellent, and the location is very close to the main tourist attractions. Not only is the food good, but this restaurant (frequented by local people - a good sign) is the absolute best value for money I think I've ever encountered.More

Favorite place for the locals. Inexpensive tasty Indian food. Thought was a vegetarian restaurant but it's not. Though there are enough choices for vegetarians. Gets 4 stars because of cheap prices.

Experience dictates that where locals of different races, outstation visitors and tourists comes regularly to this particular restaurant for breakfast and lunch does say a lot about the place itself. Serving South-Indian food, It is clean, airy and they are quite prompt in their services....The pricing is reasonable and the food is good. Be prepared to do the ‘waiting time’ as it can get packed over the weekends ..More

Very inexpensive but delicious food. Great selection. It’s clearly a spot that locals love and it gets busy I had the set vegetarian lunch and was very happy with my meal.

Highly recommended. Onion rawa thosai was delicious. Regular thosai, apam, and nasi lemak were very popular with other diners.

Food here is served on a banana leak on he table. Dal, curry, raita served from large pots then rice piled on with sambhar. The only place ive eaten lke this before was India itself!. We also had tandoori fish piece and chicken paratha served...with coconut and tomato chutneys. Delicious. And all less than MR25!More

It serves the best banana leaf meal with free flow of rice & sauces, pappadomg & vegetables. You only pay for the extra meat or drinks you ordered. The food is just delicious & yummy, white rice soft as well. Price reasonable. Place is always...packed even when I was there at 2:30pm. We visited on account of rave reviews and the TA sticker the place earned. As Im from Subang, I wanted to rate the place against Nirwana and Kanna, two of recommended banana leaf establishments in Subang. My verdict: those 2 fare better. But if ur...in Melaka craving for banana leaf fare, no doubt that Selvam is your place. They have an array of dishes and reasonably priced. Their chai tea however is too richly brewed. Do ask for hot water if u prefer milder version. Upside: polite waiters and cashier. Downside: parking is a bane. There is one at Tabung Haji around the corner pass the Public bank.More
