I love a good hole-in-the-wall restaurant. And outside appearances may scare some people away but to me it's a challenge, & it's usually comes with a good payoff. This place was recommended by Dr. Cherry at the Dexter Parsonage. I was looking for local food and it delivered. We had the fried chicken and the porkchop with gravy. Both were... More

We ordered breakfast that was served fast and was delicious. Get past the building's exterior so you can stop by for a truly authentic Southern experience. The staff was friendly and courteous.

This is truly an eatery that focuses on their southern comfort food, with no frills. I was brought here by an ASU alumni when we were in town on business. It's a small hole in the wall place with friendly service, yummy fried chicken, and even better greens. My partner loves the banana pudding, but I was so stuffed, I... More

While the restaurant is nothing to look at from the outside the food on the inside is fabulous. We ordered pot roast and fried chicken with buttered peas and butter squash as our sides. Everything was delicious.

Open for breakfast and lunch. Marvelous seasoned menu for all tastes. A must visit for all visitors to get a taste of the South. Don't let the location discourage you...a favorite place for dowtown office workers. Very clean, prompt courteous service. Try the buttered squash.

If you are looking for some great soul food look no further. This old run down building has been cranking out southern favorites longer than i have been alive. Nothing has changed, the food is always delicious, and the service is spot on. It is so hard to resist not getting the fried chicken, mac n cheese, and collard greens... More

Davis Cafe is not much to look at from the outside but do not let that deter you! Recommended by the aunt of a dear friend, a Montgomery native and local historian, I knew I was in good hands. No fuss, down home, soul food cooking with the promise of delicious fried chicken fulfilled. Homemade sides included your choice of... More

Four thumbs up for our friend chicken lunch yesterday! Crispy and deliciously moist. Beloved has corn and beans and peas as sides, I had greens and okra. All were super good. Two sweet teas and we were golden. Speedy service. Don't be put off by the outside. This place is a dive but of the best sort!

Pay no attention to the old building on the outside, the love that is put into the food on the inside is what it's all about. The breakfast was amazing and will certainly keep you full until lunch. The fried bologna with two eggs over easy and grits was comfort food to die for!

Thank Kitsho
