This is a delightful little place serves down home cooking--everything is made just like your best childhood memories of food served with love.

It's not much to look at, but don't be decieved. Not only does this place have a top health department rating, but the food is good. Wonderful breakfast on Fridays and Saturdays. Where else can you get eggs your way with fried bologna and fried greed tomatoes with grits? For lunch, get a meat and three, but make sure one... More

This restaurant is great. It's just a small place off highway 43 in Northport but it's well worth the trip to find it. My wife and I were there for lunch and the food was great. Everyone was very friendly and made you feel right at home. The prices were also very reasonable. We will be going back and do... More

One of the best places in Tuscaloosa County to eat. I love the food and service. Great prices and great service from Phyllis who owns the place.

This is not a fancy place by any stretch of the imagination and it is just off the beaten path. However, if you choose to find it and go inside you will discover some of the best cooking around. The folks who run the place are friendly and the service is good. This is one of those gems that locals... More

There are other southern soulfood places around but this is the real deal. A delightful Black Family has run this place for many years. Their kindness is only matched by their cooking. It is off the beaten path, but in the middle of the Northport area. Just use a map or gps and you can find it. The turnip greens,... More

Soul food at its finest. Great food from folks who have passion for what they make. The folks are happy to see you and want to make sure you have enough to eat just like grandma's. The food is wonderful and the service staff is so friendly makes this a sure place to take family and friends.

I am VERY picky about my Southern cooking. This was not "messed with;" it was enhanced to perfection. The slaw is to DIE FOR. The veggies were perfect. The collards tasted fattening but they had no fat in them. How do they DO that? I wish they could take up residence in my house and cook.

If you want authentic Southern cooking in a warm and friendly restaurant, the Brown Bag is worth finding. The cinderblock building doesn't excude charm, but as you get near you smell the hickory wood burning out back. Great fried green tomatoes, catfish and BBQ.

Thank Chris C
