Mr & Mrs Bund is still a fantastic spot for dinner when you want to see or be seen. There is a nice cross-section of Shanghai society all set against their modern/elegant backdrop. Now for the food: After my previous visit I wrote a review...More

Several friends have recommended this place, and after ordering several dishes, have no idea why this restaurant is still around. Bread served with foie gras was burnt rather than toasted. Truffle bread was soggy, and cod was fine but nothing special. On the plus side,...More

Great place to enjoy great modern fusion style food. Nice fancy design blended with classic 1920 style and a nice terrace with amazing view on the river and the city... And a great roof top bar one level upper!

Don't get me wrong, the food is good. Real good. Their menu is intricate and delicate, they have a wide range of fine wines and spirits and their service is really attentive. A good posh location on the bund, for some even, a must.

The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the
world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous
waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts
monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai
International Settlement run by the British and
Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has
endured over time and is now found in the five-star
hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive

Mr & Mrs Bund – Modern Eatery by Paul Pairet. A modern French eatery. Relaxed chic atmosphere, heritage Bund location.Mr & Mrs Bund is French, in the manner of Chef Paul Pairet: born, traveled, and globally stamped. Contemporary, but not stuffy. Relaxed, without sacrificing an ounce of chic. We serve populist French favorites, through Pairet's looking glass. Service is family-style, recast for a modern table, and the wine list includes 32 wines by the glass. We riff on classics, we dish up comfort cuisine, and we serve it just like you would Sunday night dinner – sharing-style, and with plenty for seconds. It's a straightforward menu that takes simple French classics to start, and then let you add and play. Mash-ups: not just for potatoes and DJs anymore. Hours: Dinner: 5:30pm to 10:30pm (Monday to Sunday); Late Night Supper: 11:00pm to 2:00am (Thursday to Saturday)Accolades: No.43 in 2013 & No. 76 in 2014 by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants & 51-100 list; No.7 in 2013 & No.11 in 2014 by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants
