The Siao Long Baos are special. It is not the usual kind that are made with pork meat. The Pork Ribs are also good. I didn't like the noodle soup so much. Maybe I just ordered the wrong one. It is also strange that they do not serve rice even though they promote their steamed chicken and pork dishes.

1st is selling food while 2nd floor is a restaurant specialised in Soup dumpling. The big soup dumpling is really worth trying but be careful not to break it as all the soup will be gone to the plate! Highly recommended

A one stop store for souvenirs, local packaged snacks, fresh seasonal fruits. A very nice dumpling restaurant on the second floor too which closes early at 8:00 pm, last order at 7:30.

I've been here a number of times and the food is consistently good. The xiao long bao are delicious, the giant bao (dumpling) as well as the noodles (pork and mushroom). The service continues to be terrible but the food makes up for it. Try and get a seat by the window as you can watch the world go by... More

I stayed Le Merdien for biz trip and this near restaurant was better than to have hotel room service, considering cost-effectiveness. I tried crab meat dumpling & curried beef meat noodle. Noodle wasn't bad neither good. Baozi was relatively good.

The restaurant is located on top of a busy food-snack shop - sitting by the window to watch the busy world outside while slurping on the soup dumpling is a nice break from the walking along Nanjing Road. Whilst I have not tried enough soup dumplings to comment if this was the best, it did scored high for the convenient... More

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
