Lots of options in the menu. Love the quinoa bowl, its an all time favourite. The menu changes with every season, which keeps things interesting throughout the year.

Was so excited to try this place but turned out below average even. The juices got no flavour, the starters were bland, the main was not tasty at all, I didn't know the salad can be this yucky? Well the service was good.

I have no idea how we haven't eaten in Pure and Whole before but here we are. We found this place online and excitedly rushed over to try the new (for us) veggie place. Location of the restaurant is awesome, on Nanjing rd, in the courtyard of Shanghai Center. The place is on a small side but cozy and quiet.... More

Dear Inga, Well first things first, glad you found us! And I am happy you enjoyed your experience all around, and your paella comment is being addressed. We have just hired an amazing executive chef from the USA who is taking the whole menu up a few notches, as well as innovating our dishes to do something unique to Shanghai.... More

Love love love pure and whole, I literally ate there at least twice in a month, not tired at all of the menu which is wide and full of options or unexpected combination, they dishes are all heaven, the staff well sometimes are awake and sometimes not, is China after all. But the food conquer all, don't miss to have... More

Pure&Whole is my favorite in town for vegetarian and vegan food. Serves lunch and dinner. All food and drinks freshly prepared from organic sources. Today went there for lunch and had our favorite dishes. Spring rolls, spicy black bean paddies, quinoa bowl and arabian wraps. Just delicious. Highly recommend.

A quick and refreshing lunch located on central Shanghai. The food was delicious; highly recommend the black bean and the red pepper walnut dip. The Arabian wrap is wonderful as well. I enjoyed the chai but the amount of leafy materials could be far less.

Hi Treed, Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We appreciate your kind words and glad you enjoyed your lunch. The Chai does have loose leaves by design but perhaps there were too many and I apologize that didn't quite hit the mark. I hope you visit us again for a future business lunch or a relaxed... More

This is for the Shanghai Centre location: TripAdvisor refuses to find this one. Excellent food, a huge menu choice. Nice mix of Chinese and Western food styles. Good to see the calories listed with each choice. Makes it very easy to choose if you're watching your weight. This location also did offer wine and beer. Everything looked really good. It... More

Rainbow Claire, Thank you for writing to the community here and so glad you enjoyed your meal. We are still trying to fix the location review feature as we have three shops and it always defaults to our Yanping Road address, so thank you for specifying where you ate. Not sure of any plans to open in NZ anytime soon!... More

Staying in Jing'an

Neighbourhood Profile
Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
