What do you seek for a chinese comfort food? Dim Sum, stir-fried dishes or braised meat and veges, then serve with a good bowl of rice! This place have it all. Thai Style Steam Fish is decently sour and spicy, well, it turned out not really thai-ish, but it's well done. The Surf and Turf Combination dim sum is rather... More

We went there without reading any review. The food was very good specially the fried dumpling and the noodles with sea food. The service was excellent and waiters could speak English. We were satisfied with the check too.

You have free wifi inside. The quality is very average and the price quite high for an "almost fast-food"

Totally recommend this place for great Taiwanese food. Try the dumplings and the rice in stone bowl. Place is clean and service attentive. Will go back for sure. Prices are very reasonable.

Originally supposed to be a teahouse, it turns to be a chain restaurant with decent food, quick and attentive service by a bunch of young kids with a minimum grasp of English (if you can survive ordering the food in Chinese - or by pointing the finger on the menu with pictures - is much better), and reasonable value for... The free cold tea they give you when you sit down is great during summer. The food is clean, delicious, but we were surprised at the smaller-than-expected portion size.

This is a nice, modern restaurant, which seems to be a part of a chain of restaurants all called "Chamate": we also saw a Chamate restaurant in Hangzhou directly on the West Lake. It seems also to be a tea house, but the tea was too expensive for us (80 Yuan per pot), so we just had a meal here.... More

Staying in Jing'an

Neighbourhood Profile
Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
