We ate at Din Tai Fung in the French Concession but the menu is the same....fantastic!!! Wonderful local cuisine, very well priced, beyond delicious. This chain has one Michelin Star...quite special it is. We loved it and have since sought it out on a subsequent trip in Hong Kong and Singapore...fabulous food.

Our favourite restaurant in Shanghai. Amazing food especially the dumplings and fried rice. Clean, spacious and excellent service. Also has great views of the Bund especially at night time. A must visit if you come to Shanghai.

This place is a must visit if you're spending any time in Shanghai. The dumplings are fantastic. It is very clean and the staff is very helpful. Every dumpling they have is outstanding. They have lots of options for vegetarians. I highly recommend the pork dumplings in the shrimp and crab dumplings!!

Located in the Pudong New District where all of the skyscrapers and fancy looking buildings are, you can expect to find SO MANY PPL during lunch time MOn-Fri...as for the dumplings, it's AVERAGE...not even as tasty as Xi Jia De in Harbin..so if you're a rich guy with money to spare, then definitely try here, if not, I don't recommend... This Din Tai Fong location lacks a little personality with its uber pristine interior, but at least you know it is spotless clean. The food is good and fast, and the line moves quickly when you're waiting for table. The hype seemed a little higher than the experience, but that could just be because everyone we asked for a vegetarian... More

Probaly the best dumplings I have ever had. Tried the pork and chicken ones. Also, had decious wonton soup and sauteed bean shoots. Situated in a mall, this restaurant is bright, clean and airy with an "open kitchen" where you can see the staff busily hand-making each dumpling. Fun mural on the wall of various Chinese celebrities. Highly recommended!

Visited this restaurant for dinner with a work colleague. Fantastic dumplings of all kinds. I especially loved ones with black truffle and chicken - just wonderful! Environment is bright with an "open kitchen" where you can see them busily hand-making each dumpling. Fun mural on the wall of various Chinese celebrities. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

You cant go wrong with Din Tai Fung. This is a very popular dumpling restaurant, actually a Taiwanese chain. Food is consistently very good, restaurants are clean and prices quite reasonable.

Staying in Lujiazui

Neighbourhood Profile
Lujiazui
When people speak of Shanghai’s futuristic skyline, it’s the financial district of Luiazui they are speaking of. Shanghai’s most iconic buildings are located in close proximity to Lujiazui’s elevated ring road and swanky eateries. Sky-high shopping and chic bars fill the highrises around the area. As is characteristic of a world-class financial business district, some of Shanghai’s best malls and hotels can be found in the neighborhood. While everyone on the famous Bund side of the river gazes in awe at these amazing structures, all the buildings here, as well as Lujiazui’s riverside promenade, offer great views of the historic buildings all along the Puxi side. The Lujiazui park often hosts music festivals throughout the year, and park goers can party and stroll in the shadow of some of the world’s tallest buildings.
