I have been here many many times before and they always provide great service and a fantastic dinner. Wine list is excellent. I'll be back on my next Shanghai trip.

We got to Lingo following the good reviews here on TripAdvisor. Since it was Sunday evening, the restaurant was very quiet. As we sat down, a welcoming French host greeted us and provided some good recommendations on menu items. When we asked about a "green salad", which the restaurant does not have on its menu, he immediately said it was... More

My wife and I went here yesterday for lunch. The food was excellent. Before coming to the food, a few words about the restaurant itself. It is located in Ciro's Plaza, an office building just off Peoples Park. It is close to Shanghai Theatre and other attractions. Location-wise, it is good. The restaurant is decorated in Bistrot style and allows... More

I've been to Lingo a few times. It's been a while, I have to go back soon. The restaurant is cozy and relaxed. Sometimes I go alone or with a friend. We usually have friendly and efficient service. I order a cheese fondue. It is decadent and takes you to heaven and back. So far, I've tried the steak, the... More

The eatery was crowded and most diners were not there for restaurant week but were regulars. We had the tuna and French pate for starters and the tuna was especially good. We both had the duck penne as mains, and the dish was tasty too. The desserts were so-so though, and the chocolate mousse was not that good. We also... More

Sadly I cannot support the earlier reviews of this restaurant. We chose to dine at lingo bistrot having eaten at the owners other restaruant in Suzhou ( which was outstanding!) We ate on the Monday evening of the spring break which may have impacted the service - but it was truly dreadful . We ordered beer - didn't have ANY... More

Been there many times for both lunch and dinner. Set menus are very affordable and what you have in your plate is really good value. I took the duck, really tasty and delicious. What I like the most is the lamp on the ceiling. Dessert I took the chocolate fondant. So nice.

This is a fantastic restaurant. It has one of those menus where you want everything on it because it all sounds so good! The ambience is nice and the staff are friendly and polite. The food was delicious and the wine selection was very good for China. The best thing about this restaurant is its value for money. The food... More

This restaurant is in a shopping centre just off Peoples Square. The menu is authentically French and very well priced - RMB118 for a 2 course set menu including a generously portions steak. Ambience and Service were also very good and there was a decent cocktail and wine list. All up a meal for 2 was RMB502 including 2 cocktails... More

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
