This is a great Japanese restaurant in Shanghai and very popular so reservations are a good idea. We tried a selection of dishes and all were well prepared and very fresh. The beef hot pot was recommended and it was excellent.
The salmon sashimi lunch box 68 RMB ($12 USD) if I remember correctly is one of the top deals I've seen at a restaurant. The 4 or 5 fresh sashimi pieces are ENORMOUS sitting atop rice, includes miso soup and a hot steamed egg dish. Wear nice socks, shoes must be taken off before entering the eating area.
I went on a Saturday for an early dinner (the place is usually packed and is highly recommended to make a reservation in advance). We ordered sashimi platter, sushi and few chicken skewers.
