We were told this was a good place for local food. We were not disappointed. The service was good, the meat well cooked and the vegetables fresh and beautifully cooked. It was more expensive that one would like at about 10k each.

This restaurant is quite large. There's a stage, gazebo area, open bbq, a souvenir store, and a tremendous number of well spaced tables. The waitresses are dressed in what appears to be typical Costa Rican countryside costumes...all this lends itself to quite a festive (albeit touristy ambience). The service is quite good as is the food. I had a huge... More

Place is popular with the locals and justifiable so. The food while limited to typical Tica food was all top notch, the big open are rancho has festive air to it. The staff was nice and the owner was actually there and she took a minute to chat with us

This Mexican restaurant is great. I went there for Lunch and I really enjoyed the food. This restaurant is good for single couples and families with kids. The staff are very helpful. If you are on a budget holiday this place is great for that. The restaurant is open for breakfast lunch and dinner as well what I know of.... More

The food and service here is great. Try their coffee that is made at your table for a unique experience. Their banana splits are delicious and can be shared with others in your party as they are huge!

So we came to Costa Rica in rainy season which is fine as we still got a lot of fine weather but when a 'shower' occurs it is more like a torrential downpour (they usually last about 20 mins). Being from the UK we're used to rain but this was something else. It began to rain and we didn't have... More

The food here was probably the best I had during our visit. Really fresh ingredients, delicious, flavorful food, good service. We were told by some locals that it was less authentic/more touristy than some other places (i.e. Soda Viquez), but we were happy none the less. Definitely go here. Note: I'm not sure what its called, but both my husband... More

We walked to La Choza De Laurel at the recommendation of our transport driver from SJO to Arenal, and were so glad we did. This was our first meal in Costa Rica, and set the bar high for the rest of the trip. The Volcano Rice suggests on the menu that it will create an "Explosion of flavor in your... More
