After a long trip to the Resort the dinner experience at Los Tucanes re-energized our group. The table with the comfortable cushion chairs, the open air, the musical entertainment and the incredibly friendly attentive staff combined with excellent food made this meal memorable. Cesar gave us a welcoming greeting and summoned the wait staff to our table. I should have... More

We ate here for the first time on New Year's Eve, when there was a set menu with essentially two choices for each course. Overall I would say the service was excellent and the food was good, but not great- especially for the price (roughly 100pp). We had potato purée soup (very good), fish bouillabaisse (nothing like a bouillabaisse- with... More

Had dinner two nights in a row as the food and service at the hotel's main restaurant is outstanding. They recommend a slightly more formal attire (no flip flops and shorts at night) - the setting is nice and the food was superb. We had the seafood choices (Tuna was terrific and so too was the Mahi Mahi) - our... More

We visited Los Tucanes every day for breakfast and for dinner one evening while staying at Tabacón. The breakfast was very good with many "typical" options and if you order coffee it is french press (not Costa Rican Press, I asked)! For dinner our server was Antonio. He was very attentive and kind! We started with the Ceviche Los Tucanes... More

We ate one night at Los Tucanes and had Adam as our waiter. The menu offered great variety and what was not on the menu, they knew how to accommodate. My friend asked for vegan options and was not disappointed. She was served a delicious, grilled vegetable platter and I had the salmon. We were even served a complimentary dessert... More

Please call for a reservation and an early one is better than later. God is very good and prices are within reason. A calm atmosphere with live music makes this a great place for dinner. Service is excellent.

We ate here two nights when we stayed at the Tabacon resort. The menu has a variety of dishes. We ordered the fish special and ribeye steak. Both were very good. The prices are very reasonable and they can accomdate large groups. There is live music nightly. There salads are creative and tasty. They serve chef special treat as appetizers... More

We stayed at the resort for three nights. Breakfast each morning, included with the room, was lovely. Fresh ingredients, well prepared. The baked goods left a little to be desired, but apart from that, the food and setting was lovely. Get a seat by the waterfall/swimming pool. Dinner, with lovely food again, was shockingly expensive, by almost any standard. By... More

The venue was relatively quiet, staff, superb, cuisine exemplified finesse, romantic outdoor ambiance, pricey and well worth every colonne

Just had dinner here and the experience was so underwhelming that I feel like I need to post a review. Started off by trying to get a reservation for my fiancé and myself at 8pm on a Sunday night. When I called the only time they could get us in was 7:30. Fine, we had to rush a bit to... More
