We sat in the covered open air area that looks at the courtyard. We could see the steeple of the church downtown. Ahhhh... relaxing atmosphere. Lunch didn't start til noon and we had ten minutes to wait but we had a fruit drink while waiting. The "Pina colada" was coconuty and yummy. The Hawaiian fruit drink was a great smoothie... More

Nice spot, good food, great staff, best Mojito I have had- if you like lots of mint. Reasonable prices & took M/C, as we had ran out of Col. & didn't want to get more, since we were leaving early the next morning. Outdoor patio is very nice.

We went for an evening meal and this food is some of the best we had in Central America. In a beautiful colonial building, which the owner was kind enough to show us round. He was also kind enough to give travel advice in Costa Rica. If we had been in Liberia longer we definitely would have visited again.

A block and a half from the cathedral and central square, Cafe Liberia occupies the oldest house in town. The building has an antique, ramshackle charm. Chef and owner Sebastien Devenelle from Reims turned from the harder life of France and was seduced by Costa Rica, as all visitors are. He stayed and opened this superb restaurant. My wife and... Great food and excellent service. Ceciche regrettably was not availabe so we had a Cheeseburger with fries - delicious, as was the cobb salad. Wine not so good, suggest stick to beer or soft drinks. The building has been well-restored and is a charming ambient to enjoy dinner.

My husband and I found this cafe while we were walking through Liberia. It's an eclectic with lots of room for dining. There is an outside area with couches and tables as well for reading, relaxing or playing games. The coffee was delicious. We enjoyed our meals as well. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We would definitely visit... More

We were very happy with this restaurant. Sébastien the chef was quite charming and cooks excellent food. The staff are very friendly and we had the best tres Leche cake we have had. Really great spot to relax and eat some tasty food.

Looking on here I spotted this place, heard from our hostel that it was nice as well. It didn't disappoint. Owned by a lovely Frenchman and staffed by smiling faces, Cafe Liberia was out of this world. From amazing ceviche and Wagyu beef burgers, if you are passing through and want a real culinary experience, you won't want to miss... More

Our party had several vegetarians and so I should take a star away for the lack of choice in that area. But the service and ambience made up for it. I would go back and would recommend it to my friends. We only had one meal there, so can't vouch for everything on the menu. The chicken fajita and the... More

Great place with wonderful service and food, we had the hamburger, really great tasting meat along with homemade FF. Very old building with wonderful windows that look out to the street. Wifi and nice courtyard in the back.
