Yummy for lemon, orange, and chocolate cake too - big slabs of it! They also have other things so great for take-away.

We stopped here for breakfast in between tours. We had the pancakes with a side of fresh fruit. The food cane out very fast which was great because we had been in a hurry and it was very good. I also ordered a fresh smoothie was tasty. They accepted US dollars which is also a plus. There is also a... More

This bakery/cafe was right next to my B & B (Casa Marbella). I tried several times to buy one of their delicious sounding cakes but the 'cupboard was always pretty bare'. I don't know why. Anyway I stayed for a delicious cheese/salad baguette (served warm) & had a coke (as their milkshake blender wasn't working - shame). They have a... More

We had breakfast here our first morning in Tortuguero. It's the only place open at 7:00 a.m. The breakfast was fine, the was waitress nice and the decorous was spartan. The Banana Bread however was fabulous! We enjoyed it so much that we returned the next day to take away a large piece of their delicious Banana Bread - which... More

We arrived in Tortugara with very little money, whilst waiting for the supermarket to have enough money, if you have the same problem you'll understand. We ordered a BLT and it was really good. They bake the bread fresh which made it outstanding. They're banana bread looked amazing and we will be sure to go back and try it.

This place feels quite authentic and local.. We had nice juices, banana bread (more like cake) and the best empanada we have had yet! The food is nice but far from amazing!

Tortuguero is a little village, only 300 people, so there are not many options for an early breakfast. We were there birding , where you get up really, really, early and get back late so you miss most options for breakfast at your hotel. Our guide Alonzo walked us to the Bakery while he went to get tickets to the... More

Opens early so you can have breakfast before your boat tour. They make the bread themselves so it is the only place I have seen where you have fresh bread and no toast. Lemon cake was fine too. Nice local touch also.

We purchased two Banana Breads and a Lemon Cake to have for our early Breakfast the next morning before our 5:30 am canoe tour of the National Park Canals. They were fresh and moist. Lasted well and had it the next day on the bus back to San Jose as well!

Thank Bob B
