I had lunch there today. French chef with regional influences on his cuisine. I tried the frisée salad and the Corvina Macadamia, sea bass encrusted with macadamia with shredded vegetables and mushroom over an orange butter sauce with a side of rice. It was to die for! To top it off I had the dessert special, an almond cake layered... More

For a posh dinner when you're visiting San Jose, this should definitely be on your list of options. A great setting and good ambiance, with very attentive service and a comprehensive, interesting menu. A bit pricey ( but blame Brexit for the exchange rate) but well worth it !

Great place to have dinner in a very romantic atmosphere. The food is just perfect ! It is great for breakfast as well in the terrace, where you can see the birds. I highly recommend the French toasts and the parfait.

The hotel and the restaurant are excellent. A bit on the pricey side but it is worthy. We had a business dinner with a party of 15 people and we were well attended by 3 staffers.

Let's start with the location and the architecture of the hotel: SUPERB! The hotel is very conveniently located 3 blocks away from Paseo Colon which is the avenue that leads to downtown San Jose. The hotel's decoration and furniture speak of grandeur and classic elegance. The food is simply great and the variety will surely please even the most demanding... More

Because it was the restaurant connected to our hotel, we had dinner here and breakfast which was included with our room. We couldn't have been happier with the service, the menu, the decor, and the delicious food. One of us has a food allergy and was easily accommodated. The recommended wine was delicious.

I've been looking for my favorite kind of breakfast in San Jose...Trip Advisor ranked Gran Oro as #1. My favorite breakfast is: 1. 2 scrambled eggs done just right - not brown & not runny - & with some chopped up veggies if possible, 2. Good toast with good butter that is not white, dark bread best 3. 2 strips... More

This is a great place. Georgeous decoration, excellent food and great attitude from waiters. May be a little slow but if you are not in a hurry definitely you would enjoy the stay and the food. Classical food well prepared and presented.
