I've eaten breakfast here twice. It's best described as touristy kitsch with "comida típico" (typical Costa Rican cuisine). The cool thing is that it is a touristy restaurant primarily for Costa Rican tourists (though you'll see foreigners there too). Think Cracker Barrel in Chepe. The breakfast is good. I like the "desayuno completo".

The wait staff were very helpful in guiding us through the large menu. The waiter spoke excellent English and recommended several local dishes that were very tasty. Portions are large. As always the chicken, rice and beans were top of the list along with some tasty appetizers and Bavaria Blonde beer. The decor is as eclectic as it gets with... More

This is a good place if you are on a budget. The food is always fresh. They have a wide variety of dishes. I did not like the fact that restrooms are too close to sitting areas. Great location for one day tours of San José as a safe base.

This is a cozy place where you can go to eat and also it's a place where you can have good conversations. I loved the "chorreao coffee" and we tried the tortillas and they were really good. The prices are not so cheap, but it's worth it. I loved the decoration and the attention is so lovely, they definitely have... More

The decor is definitively kitschy starting at the curb. For a touristy place, we were surprised to see a fair number of locals there for dinner. It is centrally located close to museums and hotels that are popular with tour groups like the Sleep Inn. It offers a large menu but we recommend sticking to the tried and true local... More

Food was reasonably good. I did like fish ceviche, herbal salad dressing. However, a bit on expensive side considering rather sloppy service. Everybody from the airport transfer driver to the hotel reception clerk recommended it as the please for the local food. I did not go anywhere else in San Jose, so nothing to compare with.

Was recommended by the stuff of our hotel. And it worth it absolutely. We had one english speaking waiter who was fast, friendly and helpful. Food is not cheap but fot that what u get is it definitly fair. The quality of meat and fish was awesome. Drinks were not less...we were happy and gave a good tip.

Food is way too expensive and not that tasty. Staff are not friendly and never smile. It's just a tourist trap, we didn't see any locals. Don't waiste your money in here.
