We decided to take our hosts to dinner at Tahaa Maitai where we had enjoyed a lunch two years before. There were six of us at dinner and we all had more than we could eat. The service was as nice as it was for lunch and the food was delicious. The mahi-mahi carpacciou was excellent as was the mahi-mahi... More

We decided to have lunch here as it was recommended to us by a few locals. The restaurant is on the water and a quaint, clean place. My husband had the seared tuna and I had the shrimp with honey sauce. Both dishes were excellent. The owner, Bruno, came over to see if all was well and we ended up... More

We have eaten at this restaurant twice and plan to return. We have been in French Polynesia for several years moving from island to island and this is the best food we have had in our time here. The price is average for the area and the portion is adequate. We ordered the drink, appetizer, main course and dessert the... More

What a find! Tucked into the farthest reaches of the deepest inlet on Taha'a Chef Bruno's indoor/outdoor cafe offers fine food that would be a hit in any metropolitan area of the world in a setting of tranquil beauty. The Mahi-Mahi-Vanille is so good it will knock your socks off, but everything we tried was excellent. As a bonus the... More

We sailed for a week around Bora Bora & Tahaa, treating ourselves with a meal at Tahaa Matai on our penultimate night and it was well worth it. We were the only people dining and Bruno & his staff were very welcoming & friendly. The food was delicious if not on the expensive side of affordable but as we were... More

Our friendly taxi driver took us here after visiting the Vanilla Plantation, excellent food, friendly service. The view of the bay is magical, small boats gently crisscrossing the water. Relaxed atmosphere.

After a bicycle round trip around the island, the stop at the Tahaa Maitai was a gift from the sky. Delicious french and local food, and, what's not the least, an amazing whiskey reserve. This place and its lovely chef Bruno are already worth the flight to French Polynesia.

We had not visited our friends on the island of Tahaa for 14 years. Now there is a paved road around the island and our friends drove us around. Near noon we entered the village of Haamene and our friends drove past a building that was really a cement wall. They drove into a driveway toward the bay and we... More

We were staying at the Le Tahaa Island Resort & Spa and decided to tour the island of Tahaa. My family of four arrived at the Tahaa Maitai around 3:00PM, too late for lunch but Bruno Francois was nice enough to accommodate us. We ordered the fastest item, steak and fries. The steak was great and the fries were nothing... More
