I been to BUKHARA with family for dinner . It was not busy and we order dal Makhni and chicken with black pepper . The food was just average, with cashew nuts and black pepper chicken was cooked . Staff didn't bother to ask if we were enjoying the food or not. It was quite pricy. Will not recommend this... More

We have eaten at Bukhara numerous times and always had a very positive and authentic Indian cousine. It is on an expensive side but all things considered is well worth it.

I first eat at this exact resturant in 2003. Resturant's tend to have a finite life span. But The quality of the food, the decor, the overall experience was as good as it was in 2003. The waiters were attentive and friendly. The menus has chicken, meat, fish and vegetarian options. The naans were freshly made. Good Indian dining experience.

We frequent Bukharas in Cape Town, but this one is a step above. Very good Indian food, well presented with a extensive wine list

This is probably one of the better Indian restaurants in Johannesburg. The setting and ambience are ok - not spectacular. It's in a shopping mall. The food is very good North Indian fare - quite rich. It's not that cheap. They have a decent wine list. Good for vegetarians.

I was staying over in Johannesburg for a slightly long trip this time and hence had a strong craving for Indian food. Looked at the reviews and thought of trying out this place. The ambience is nice but the food quality compared to authentic Indian food is not good. The paneer tikka was overcooked and hence became dry, the aloo... More

Never ever again. Bad attitude from the waiters, two hours for food to arrive, take aways streaming out the door and irate customers. Last time.

Visited this place on a business trip. Major disapointment. Passing themselves off as high end. Its anything but that. They are way overpriced as well. Had butter chicken with chicken that was so rubbery and tough. I am sure they used yesterdays leftovers and dumped in some gravy. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Avoid at all costs.

The food is great as well as the service. Make sure you have the Dal Makhani and Naan. Wine list is not extensive yet great selection of varietals and blends from SA. The place really starts to buzz after 1930.

Took time to locate but was worth the hunt! Karari tandoori roti for those who understand 'karari' , tasty chicken tikka and above average daal makhni. Will surely come back again to try out other items. The portion size is good for 2-3 persons. Even a Naan is big for one adult. Wish you have thali option/ set menu for... More
